Eurozone crisis- the jw's are crowing about it like mad!
by highdose inover the past few weeks i've been told that the eurozone will go into melt down and that this will be the start of armargeddon because the goverments will then turn on religon to get their money instead.. i have been told that the greek pm almost rejecting the greek bailout plan would lead to armargeddon.
of course much to the jw's disapointment the greek pm resigned and the greeks did accept the bail out.
thus saving the greek banks from collapse and thus the rest of the european banks.. i have been told that italys debt will mean they will plunder the vatican for its wealth!

Is there any way around this? (Preaching when you don't believe)
by venusinfauxfurs ini figure i can do more to wake friends and family up on the inside than the outside and i didn't come to that decision without a great deal of pain.
i know it's not "the truth" but it isn't a bad life for me,and i still very much believe in god.
the witnesses aren't right but neither are the mormons, the catholics, etc and i have other family devoted to both those faiths.

Just leave and give absolutely no explaination if asked.
It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach when I see the fear in people (like the OP) I know, I've had and still have that fear, having been a baptized witness, I've never known it in an unbaptized pub.

Do You Miss Even A Little Bit Your "Friends" From The "Truth"?
by minimus ini miss a few but honestly i could count them on one hand after being in the organization for almost 5 decades.
some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

Yes and no, but it has to be said, mostly no, simply because if a friendship is based upon whether or not you attend the KH then it's not really a friendship at all.
What I seriously regret is allowing myself to abandon friends that I had years ago because I was told I couldn't be friends with people who weren't 'in the truth' only to end up completely on my own when I left the JW. I guess that's what I get for doing that myself all those years ago.

List your movies thread
by dm6 innice to meet you!!.
i am working as a chef and i work the most ridiculous hours, so i spend a lot of free time namely after work when i go to bed, watching movies.. i have seen so many, but now i have run out of memories of movies and have seen all as far back as i can remember.. can people here name a few very awesome movies, and im not talking "oh thats nice" type of movies.
something worth the time.. i dont mind the genre, just nothing like romance, although i did like titanic having said that.. thankyou please!.

Magnolia
Annie Hall
Downfall (I was blown away by this film)
Also can't beat a really good crap film like Predator, Rambo and Commando for sheer comedy value.

And God forbid you grow a beard and encourage 60's style free love, because that's what would happen to all around you if you didnt shave...

I still find it hard to believe that the WTBTS think that wearing a suit or a dress is somehow fitting when visiting a factory. To be honest, I don't think God could care less if you have a matching suit and white shirt or if a woman wears trousers to the KH, what difference does it make? I remember a friend of mine years ago was on the platform at a circuit assmbley, as a householder or something like that, he wasn't wearing a matching suit so they sent him home to get changed. Clearly missing the important 'food' wasn't a problem in the hour and a half it took him, as long as he set a good example. Insane.
