The conventions in Minnesota have been in Rochester MN for many years. There is one main highway that most people travel on from the north to get there. I've often wondered what it would cost to rent a billboard and put a message on it. Something along the lines of "Jehovah's Witnesses divide and destroy families!". I imagine that would bring about a lawsuit from WT legal!

Were any of you in Brooklyn Bethel in 1996 when KISS performed live under the Brooklyn bridge?

I have you all beat! I was married EXACTLY one week after my 18th birthday! For us it was a mixture of wanting to have guilt-free sex and partly an excuse for me to move out of the house and get away from my psychopathic father. It was also largely because we were in LOVE! And we still are 13 1/2 years later! (And cult-free together! Whatta miracle!) No Regrets

a us senator thinks a law enforcement agency (unnamed) may have known about the boston bombing before it happened.. a new hampshire state legislator has publically said that the bombing was a black ops setup.
this remark sparked immediate controversy and denial.. an ex-fbi employee is reported to have said that the two bombers were recruited and paid by the fbi (russia today).

What will happen when JWActivists goes back online?
by okage inthe aawa website jwactivists is down for repairs or whatever, so here is my prediction of what it will be when it comes up:.
* the site will have removed all mention of jwn.
* the site will have revised their own history.. * the site will have a registry that will be contingent on confirmation of identity in relation to the wts, but will also limit the function and communication of naysayers of john cedars' only working organization on earth.. * privacy will not be addressed.

I think this observation is spot-on and I do believe Wha Happened makes a great point that the way this has all transpired is so in the stylings of Watchtower operations!
I was never interested or tempted to sign up for the infamous group because I think it was trying to corral us all into a narrow group that would attempt to be TOO organized. One of the greatest joys of being an ex-JW is having the freedom and power to disagree, to do your own thing. And that freedom is severely limited if not absent with "the group I don't want to even type the name of anymore".
The other problem I had from the very start was the idea of it being ran by someone hiding behind a pseudonym. I wondered from the start how that couldn't diminish the effectiveness of the group somehow. I by no means intend to offend current faders. I just think a person in a legitimate position of leadership in any anti-Watchtower effort needs to have truly walked in the shoes of everybody! (Especially those of us who have paid the highest price by losing all of our friends and family due to our courageous stance to no longer live a lie!)
Anyway, this post is probably a very accurate prophecy of what will unfold when the site goes back up! That means Okage already has one correct prophecy under his belt which is one more than the Watchtower has had in 140 years!

Thanks for all the nice responses! To address some our questions:
For those personally affected and/or outed by the AAWA Facebook debacle, I am truly sorry and by no means am implying that they need to pretend to forget what they are going through. I am outraged in your behalf and have truly lost respect for certain parties and the way the situation continues to be mishandled by them.
As far as what our cause is. I think this forum is the living manifestation of our cause: to inform! To inform the public about how sinister the Watchtower is! To inform each other of what we have all gone through to help each other move on quash any nagging doubts we may still have after being brainwashed ourselves by the JWs.
I myself got involved with some of the AAWA threads because the situation is outrageous and there are matters that still need to be resolved, BUT, the last thing we need to do is drag this matter out and continue to fight with each other! For parties directly involved, the pain and troubles continue annd matters still need to be sorted out. For the rest of us as bystanders, let's be informed of this situation and know what we might want to avoid and move on!

Ok gang, I love each and every one of you. But, it's time to move it along. Obviously, the AAWA blew up before they left the launching pad, but it's over and done. For those of you that were fading and were outed by the Facebook-involuntary liking incident, I am sorry. Truly and deeply. However, we REALLY need to move on and try to reunite our cause! The last thing we need is infighting that will only gratify the world's leading panel of false prophets (GB). I want us all to really try to wash our hands of all of this ugliness and remember who the real enemy is, and FIGHT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's make a promise to ourselves to move it along and stop letting them win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for putting this all in one convenient location Simon! You are the best and I think that the freedom to discuss and disagree and inform that you provide us on this forum is truly the best way to undermine the Watchtower! Being informed and vocal with our reasons against the Org. are how we unravel it, not with a "formal" corporation bent on systematically tearing down the Watchtower by getting down in the mud and employing some of it's tactics such as control of information and inability for dissent. Thanks again for all the true effort you put into creating an atmosphere for intellectual rumination!
