Coco Rocha People Magazine JW Blurb

so i know that there has been a lot of discussion about coco rocha and it is pretty much a proven fact that she is a jw.

i was surprised, though, to see her make a public statement in about it in people magazine.

we were in the doctor's office waiting room and my wife pointed it out to me.

So I know that there has been a lot of discussion about Coco Rocha and it is pretty much a proven fact that she is a JW. I was surprised, though, to see her make a public statement in about it in People magazine. We were in the doctor's office waiting room and my wife pointed it out to me. It was in the February 4 issue (newest?) of People. It was a picture of her with a quote about how you can "just say you're not interested if you don't want to be bothered" or some such thing regarding her faith as a Jehovah's witness. Anyone else see it?

Whacky comments! What the craziest comment you've ever heard?

last week a sister in my new hall made the following comment,.

"a brother once told me that it is better to be wrong with the organization, than to be right and be on your own without the organization.".

wow.

There was a visiting speaker in a very rural congregation where we were visiting family. Though in a very rural, very white area, there was nice guy from Mexico who had ended up there and had lived there for many years. The visiting speaker was muttling through the outline and came to a part about Jehovah's organization being a diverse one. He went on : "So, Jehovah's organization is a very diverse one, made up of people with many backgrounds. Well, here, maybe not so much. I guess we've got Manuel there. He's Mexican! And back in our congregation we have a sister that's half black. I don't know which half though!" Then he almost waited for the rimshot and boisterous laughter that never came. My wife and I's jaws nearly hit the floor!

There was also another one in our own congregation where an older sister somehow got on some warning example about a barn burning down and a baby dying in the fire that came totally out of nowhere and baffled us as she sobbed into the microphone!

hi blondie, do you know of a watchtower citation that i could use to respond to the commentator to the comment that i wrote to the ariticle coco rocha is a devout jehovah's witness -- who knew?

on the huffington post?

i was hoping for something like the watchtower writing not to engage with debating on-line.

I'm not Blondie, but I think if you find the article declaring apostates as "mentally diseased" it is mentioned in the same paragraphs about not engaging with them in social media, or online, or something along those lines. I think the article was from around June of 2012 in a WT study edition. Hope this helps.

this makes me so mad because they're appealing to this forum18/osce [u.n.] to get their religious freedom, but look what they do to their own people.. i just got an e-mail from a friend [current jw] he said they're 'softening to a kinder gentler wtbt$' really????

obviously they haven't told the all the other jw's because we're still being shunned and called nasty mentally diseased apostates.

That page is hilarious. We don't follow any human leader? What the @#$%^&* do you call the Governing Body?

I guess they believe their own lie that if you say something loud enough and repeat it enough, it somehow, magically becomes true! Crazy.

hi everyone, i have been on here for a little while and haven't introduced myself to you.

i can't tell you how much all of you have helped me sort many things out in my mind.. i was raised in a very good christian home and married my hs sweetheart.

i left home and moved half way across the country with a husband and a brand new baby.

Welcome, and great reading your experience! It is amazing the unexpected side effects of not being in the cult anymore (your health improving). My wife was a bit of a compulsive shopper when we were JWs. Once we left, the desire for fancy shoes, handbags, and clothes EVAPORATED! What a surprise! Best wishes to you and your hubby!

Over 4 months, still no response to this letter to the elders!

hi everyone, its been over 4 months and i have not heard a response from the elders.

i called one of them a few weeks back.

he said they sent it to bethel and haven't heard back yet.

The picture of you and your lovely wife brings tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for what you are being put through and can only hope you get through this stronger than ever. i have just joined this website and just wanted to say hello to anyone out there.

i am so nervous,after thirty odd years in the "truth" i feel as though my husband and i have just walked into a room full of smiling strangers and we are just standing here hoping to god someone will come up and speak to us.

scared and excited and hoping to wake up one morning and not wonder what we do now???

Scientologists break up families! Does this sound familiar?

i just watched a 2008 nbc nightline special on scientology.

in it, there was an interview with ex-scientologist and former seaorg member astra woodcraft.. among other very interesting statements, she made this telling comment about scientology: .

Jenna Miscavige was on Piers Morgan on CNN last night in the second half hour. Her story is very informative but I can't help but wish she was a little more eloquent. I know that sounds superficial, or whatever, and I don't mean to mean by it. I just always yearn for people in a position to expose groups like this to grab people's attention and to seem very intelligent. You can tell by her words and her writings that she is intelligent and certainly honest, but in her demeanor and speech not so much.
