The Great Wine Race
by Poztate inwell i am off to memorial with my wife in a few hours (don't ask) it has bored me to tears for the last 25 years or so but it is the one concession i make for my wife.
i have always thought of it as 45 minutes of hell (yes only 45) and find myself looking at my watch often and jingling my car keys a lot.....this year will be different and add interest to this occasion....it is...the great wine race.. my wife's congo is split in two for this festive occasion with a centre isle.
the wine passers are poised at the end of the isles to receive the rejected wine and pass it on to the next row of rejectors.often one side will win with only moments to spare over the other side.

a brother one time visited our hall.he was a otr(over the road driver) he had this most buetiful tractor trailer,custom and chrome and all.it was so damn long it blocked almost half the lot . so we had to park at the 7-11 down the street.but it was an awesome sight.

What is the worst thing about leaving?

everyone probably has a slightly different experience when leaving the witnesses.the worst aspect about this for me is the realisation that my enteire life has been lived and directed by a false premiss, and the effect past decisions now have on my life.. it can make me feel sick in the stomach on occation.. also the idea that friends and family think i have tuned bad or evil to have left jehovah is qute disturbing at times.

I agree with you all about living our entire lives under a freakin lie. There was many oppertunitys I gave up while in the borg. When I finally got out one thing I had no idea about was how immature i actually was. When I left at 20-21, I thought I was the man. Little did I know what shock was going to come to me when reality set in. When my ex-wife and I broke up, I had the maturity of a 16 year old ,zit faced kid. For god's sake I was 23, now I know i should have been a little upset,but not like a winey ,sobbing teenager. That was what I think the worst thing about leaving, the utter lack of real world expierence, and the immaturity level that came with no actual life expierence that was normal.then again thats just my two pennies worth.................Will"the thrill" Beerman.

District Conventions this year

oh yea. i missed out on alot. like everyone else said...fun. its obvious we all had no fun in a jw teenagerhood(not sure if real word).i for one went off deep end when i got out.got married to someone i barely knew. that was miserable.but i saw it as "growing up". well after that marriage ended miserably....since i was denied so much as a child and a teen, i did not know how to handle it.I acted as if i was a lil zit faced snotty nose teen ager...( i was 22).if i wasent so shielded from the real world this marriage would have never happened. i would have (gasp) dated. u know actually see who ur compatabile (sp) with. i just setteled because thats what i was supposed to do in a perfect bs jw world.well anyway. it made me stronger as a person,a non jw person.
