Wow, for a second there, I thought I stumbled on some 'gay porn'. So its ok to wear tight pants when you want to make it look cool to be a witness on their broadcast? So as long as it fits their agenda it fine, no problem. But kindly abstain from wearing tight pants unless we approve it first. Total guilt trip propaganda, thank god I unplugged when I did. -

Does anyone think Jehovah is protecting the org. despite all the talk about THE ARC ?
by tor1500 ini've been thinking this for a while.
even before the arc scandal.
it seems no matter what, the org.
-
MarkofCane
I say no way. The ARC was the nail in the coffin for me, why would God allow his Earthly organization to be humiliated? Why would god allow or need his Org to lie to protect criminals/ pedophiles? Why would God not give these men (Elders and GB members) holy spirit so words of wisdom and discernment would of been obviously heard? Why wasn't this inquiry (ARC) not use to sanctify gods name and proclaim his sovereignty? The GB Jackson had the opportunity to use this platform to show the world that God is using them as his anointed to spread truth to the world instead he "LIED".
After watching this spectacle, it became painfully obvious you just seen the 'wizard of OZ behind the curtain' This is the best God could send to lead mankind into a new era of enlightenment and truth. In my opinion it just revealed what they are frauds.

Where do I start telling a psychologist about the mental trauma I feel as a fading jw?
by Simple Minds ini am on a pension, so i could not afford to pay for a psychologist, but my good doctor referred me to a free clinic for people on a low income, for my anxiety and depression, so i have finally got my first appointment with a psychologist since i started my fade, so where do i start trying to explain the mental trauma i feel as a fading jw?
i would appreciate your advice.
simple .

Hi Simple Minds
Great advice here, I'm not an expert on this but if I were going to see a therapist I would maybe write some things down so my emotions don't get the better of me. I would defiantly express myself honestly about my involvement in this cult and it's hold on my emotions and on my cognitive decision making at the present. Hopefully everything works out well for you, stay strong. Our thoughts are with you.

Looking back,"That was crazy, moment"
by MarkofCane ini got baptized later in life.
i was around 21, i had left and went out into the world should of listen to my gut back then, but instead i disowned myself and came back into the fold.
before i could get baptized, the elder who studied with me said i needed to get rid of everything that was contaminated by this world: music, books & clothing, everything.

Yes the whole second hand stuff like from yard sales, my mom brought home some framed wall paintings once. We put them up and weird stuff stared to happen like we would get phone calls in the middle of the night they would breath hard then hang up, this would happen over and over, the sister's from the hall, after hearing about this, said to my mom,"have you anything new in the house, like furniture or used stuff from yard sales?" Wallah, 'the framed picture' this is the problem. "Get rid of it immediately it's demonized!"
Well It never occurred to anyone that my teenage sister had many admirers, but no never the logical, always the spirit realm. Because anything else would be nonsense.
PS: Always wondered why the brothers were so obsessed with yard sales when we would go out in service, yet the demons were lurking in the merchandise.

Before I could get baptized, the elder who studied with me said I needed to get rid of everything that was contaminated by this world: music, books & clothing, everything. So we went through my music. AC/DC, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy, Judas Priest to name a few. I Invested a couple of hundred dollars mind you.
He said," If you play them backwards there are subliminal messages promoting Satanism". Yup that's what he said. I was like "no way", I will throw them in the garbage right away. He said no last time someone did that they reappeared in there room or they cried out. He said we need to burn them. WTF.... so we made a small fire in the back yard and burned my music, books and a shirt that said "Sex, drugs and rock & roll" (got it at a concert) everything he didn't approve of. I wish I was making this stuff up, because I sound pretty pathetic right about now. Did any of you ever go through anything like this or hear of crazy stuff like this?

Did you get " Counseled " about the Music you Listened to While you were a JW ?
by flipper infrom the time i was a small boy - i loved rock n' roll music.
beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin, hendrix.
i started getting slighted for the music i listened to as i lay in my bedroom listening on headphones to led zeppelin's song " black dog " at age 14 with my elder dad looking suspiciously at me as i'm rocking out .

by atomant inl was wondering if others get the feeling that the world we live in seems not quite right.l can not pin point anything specific but since childhood days l often get the feeling something isn;t correct.you know the feeling of deja vu.

l saw a video the other day of a father holding his baby blown in half by a bomb one piece in each hand and l cried. How sick this world really .It really hit home how demented people have become
Hi Atomant
We are conditioned to think this way and to see the world as temporary and people as disposable. Religion was invented to fix all of man's problems.
Its interesting when you see videos of atrocities committed by man or just watch the news on TV for a bit we are programmed to view every bad thing as fulfillment of end time prophecy, remember you were or are in a high control group (cult) that sole propose is to propagate this message. There are bad people and there are good people that coexist on this beautiful planet called earth, it that simple. Religion muddled the waters of what life is all about. The god delusion has cause more suffering to mans existence and has given over control over your life and mind to others, its time to take it back.

There is no point in trying to reason with those in the organization, especially Elders. You would have more success finding the cure for cancer with a sharp stick and a bandage then reasoning with them.

My experience with the people in my hall
by Freeandclear ini've been awake now for about 6 months i'd guess and a member here for a couple of weeks.
it's been eye opening to read other peoples experiences on here and i appreciate all of you.
i've noticed in many, seemingly most, of your comments that you were not treated well at your hall or you have had very negative experiences in the "org" so i thought i'd like to share mine.. in all my time as a jw i have to say for the most part i always loved the people.
-
MarkofCane
My experience with the people at my hall for the most part has been a pleasant one, except for a couple of Elders who tried to dictate what my intentions and actions should be regarding some personal matters. I can't share the details know but soon.
I've always said the people and friends from the halls are really just in a psychological mental captivity like the rest of us were. I think of the people of North Korea, do the know they are living a nightmare or a dream? Do they know what the world thinks of there leader and situation? I'm sure they have much affection for each other and there are good and caring people there, but does it change the facts. Nothing good comes from being psychologically manipulated, even if in their minds the end justifies the means.
We have the CO visit this week so off I go, I would rather stay home and watch football but no such luck. I will observe in dissent as they try to subjugate my mind. I'm afraid, I'm to far gone. Ha ha
