Being Positive around family that are still in.

if you are a fader or you have reduced activity markedly - say resigned as a pioneer or an elder or ms or gone inactive and still have some relationship with your immediate family or spouse - how do you stay positive around them when you feel like shaking them out of their stupor but believe deep down it would be counter productive?.

I talk about life, the real me. Being happy! Content! If they talk about religion, cult talk I leave the room or change the subject. If they insist sometimes I'll just listen, maybe they will drop a gem or a bomb....you never know with this bunch. It really just depends on the group how zealous the are or how feed up they are or disappointed.

Then you just ask question to get them thinking more on the trail you set out. Maybe lead them to a ARC website you just discovered or here's one I used. I took them to the JWorg website and showed them the sign language masturbation video. Funniest shit you will ever see. They cant believe it's on their website. At first they insist there no way then they realize yes way. The look on there face is priceless. Then they go quiet, then I go watch basketball....... LMAO

Great visual of the ttatt. The society drill into your head, heart and soul that you need them to be content and happy. Its not until your forced to examine your whole existence, every word expressed to you as a child, everything you took for granted that you realize, the very thing that was your faith your stronghold, was really your prison. The ideology that you believed in, would of died for......... was all an illusion. The instrument (faith, bible) that protected you from all the evils of the world, that subjugated your mind with fear, obligation and guilt was all a self imposed determent to living the one life........ we are all given.

When you have this one epiphany your life changes forever and you stand apart from what was once, all you knew. You realize your delusion, feared and labeled an outcast.

You breathe in new life, the world is at your feet.............you are free!

i've been wondering as the months go by what would happen when an elder finally showed up at my door and pressed the issue as to why i ceased all activity and then tried to reactivate me.

That's happened to me, elders just dropping by. We live somewhat close to the Hall and it seems there always a steady flow of car groups that drive by. If they see us outside they drop in. A few times, I've just played with them, minimizing everything about the troof..... I'll get a confused look. Example last time they dropped off they invited me to the Sunday talk and said a guest speaker was going to give the talk and would be about the 'urgency of the days we live in', I nodded and said "oh, we made plans with friends to be on the lake, yeah that's not going to work. Maybe you can record it for me and I will listen to it when I'm not so busy". The look is priceless.

Sometimes, I will just be a smart ass. Like "Thank god we have the truth otherwise we wouldn't have a clear understanding of the overlapping generations thing, have they changed that again?". Haha, you can see the wheels falling off the wagons.

Hopefully, the hall close by will be sold off so they will have to drive 20 min in the other direction to the other hall.

Circuit Overseer say. . .

last night i had to suffer through the bs spouted by the new co. some garbage about the bible transforming us as people.

he went on and on about how we can look good to people at the hall who see the outside, but the bible will tell us what we are inside.. then he proceeded to use a few select verses to say sex is bad and so is the desire for it.

a healthy bank account or savings is wrong, shouldn't have that either.

Its all mind control and their masters at it. They break you down to a insignificant nothing. Tell you, "you cant even take your own step with out them". Then they infuse you with their ideology, there so called logic; work for us, give us your money, live your life for the organization your treasure awaits you in heaven.

When your life is all used up they discard you like the insignificant nothing they told you you were. Lurkers! wake up, your just a resource for them nothing more, once completely exploited they move to the next victim. Just look at the special pioneers and DO's and bethelites. kicked to the curb.

Fade question: New Cong or stay.

i have a question with regard to fading.

the wife and i have plans to move to another hall and continue our fade from the organization.

we are already missing quite a few meetings and we are not reporting time.

I thought about that some, I think its would only be beneficial to move to another hall if you are planning a fast fade, like stop cold turkey. If your playing the long game stay at your current hall whats the point of having more elders knowing your business and looking for you. If you can move to another city, that would be the best. New hall no one knows you have your card sent over and disappear.

The reason the bOrg detests birthdays is because it takes worship away from them. The Rank & File are worthless sinners and deserve nothing of the sort. The bOrg showers you with blessing, Fear, Obligation and Guilt. Rejoice you ungrateful sinner!

I had that exact reaction at the memorial, It all seemed so cultish. The emblems, partaking and the one just observing, the talk all seamed so weird. I have been going to the memorial my whole life but this last time it all felt diabolical. Its now really hard for me to go to any meetings, I will drink before and after the meeting just to cope.

Count me in. When I was lurking on this site back in the day, I remember reading so many experiences of spouses dealing with this issue, it became almost an obsession to check in to see how others worked through this.

Hang in there GTTM there are a lot of us dealing with the same stuff, what we perceived to be a good life has turned into a nightmare. I often times feel like I'm just 'going through the motions'. I'm only prepared to do this for so long. I've set a date, where I'm prepared to walk away if things remain as they are there's only so much I can take. I'm putting thing in order for that eventuality. I'm getting to old to live this way. Pm me if you would like I'm in the SW as well.

Going to meetings to "save face."

going to make this short and sweet but i need some advise again and i kinda need to vent a bit so sorry.😢.

so it has been weeks since the wife and i have been to meetings.

it has been nothing short of wonderful!!!

What's kinda sad about all of this is I have fully explained why this organization is messed up over a period of probably 6 months.She fully knows TTATT but she refuses to do her own research to get it herself.

Same here, If I email her stuff on the org, she will look at it as long as its not from an apostate site. She knows thing are not quite as they seem, but she wont go against the org just in case, I could be wrong.

She doubts the organization as much as I do and she doesn't believe the bible to be inspired by God. It's all about the shunning. She doesn't want to lose contact with her fully in Mom and Dad. I get that.

Same mess, our parents are old and she doesn't want to upset them, leaving the cult is like turning your back on them. Extended family, what do you say to them? She is terrified of going any further down the rabbit hole. Fear has paralyzed her into doing her own research.

She will go off and on to the meeting, I was trying to go and play the long game but It just kills me, truly makes me sick when I hear the lies and manipulation they use to control these poor people, once you are fully awake, you cant causally suck on the tit without gagging.
