I think it's tj who appends the trademark symbol to phrases like "The Truth". I just love that.

ever noticed that the dubs sure have a strange sense of logic.. take dfing for example.
apparently the person dfed is cut off from association.
wrong!
Another way to look at it is that I am perfectly willing to talk to them, they refuse to talk to me, but because I DA'd myself I'm the one that left them!

if there god is supposed to be the all-powerful, backing their organisation fully, men being led by god's spirit etc, then what of the lack of activity within china which has in excess of a billion inhabitants?
is their god not partial to the chinese?
what of india also?
Lack of activity in such large countries is worrisome to a lot of witnesses. It is one of the facts that got me thinking, and then leaving. This lack of activity is explained by various rationalizations. Some witnesses say, for example, that these countries are "steeped in demonism", or that they have not had large-scale missionary activity (by 'Christendom') in the past. I asked one C.O. about it, and he simply said - very coldly - that "faith is not a possession of all people", as if that explained anything.

i decided not to join the witness 3 months ago(for personal reasons) i dont want to join no organization, not either churchs,.
i feel alot better to preach the truth and live by the laws & commandments and survive this last century(last days) by myself, along with my girlfriend... .
i love the witness, they are the only ones, who tell billions the truth.. 40% of my bible(kingjamesversion) information, i got from the witness, the rest i learn by myself, thanks to jehovah(yahweh) & the wonderful armageddon messiah(king jesus)...but i feel kinda alone on the internet going around helping and preaching jehovah'god & jesus word, because as it is written, in the last century, millions will turn away from the truth- 2 timothy chapter 4 verse 2 .
U2K, I think it's great that you want to preach and change the world. I even have some advise for you: start in England. The British are a warm, demonstrative people who enjoy being corrected by strangers, especially when it comes to religious matters. You should read Englishman's thread "For Americans only...", memorize its excellent advice, and get on the next plane to London. But be sure to have a good wank first!

marge was the mother of the jw man who brought me into the jws.
she had been a jw since the early 1950s, and attended the famous 1958 international convention at yankee stadium/polo grounds in new york.
marge was a very lovely person, hospitable, kind, generous, non-judgmental, and always a faithful jw.
Thanks Amazing, for your response. It helps quite a bit. I had the wrong impression that you were continuing to claim to be of the anointed, as the WS uses the phrase, while rejecting the WS. You corrected me and I appreciate it.
I am not convinced that the Bible is the inspired word of God ... though I remain a Christian in philosophy and culture and practice. It is because I am slightly more than totally stupid that I was able to wake up and leave the JW religion ... and abandon any organized religion.
I would say much the same. To me, Christ was an individual who a giant spiritual awakening of some kind, like the Buddha, Gandhi, Mohammed, Sri Ramana Maharshi and many, many others. I believe that Christ was relatively unlucky in the transmission of his teachings, because he died so quickly and because his teachings were quickly hijacked by the likes of Paul. You might enjoy "The Gospel According to Jesus" as translated by Stephen Mitchell, which uses the Jesus Seminar material in an attempt to distill Jesus' actual teachings out of the cruft added by others.
My use of the word 'looniness' was intended as a contrast to your obvious reasonableness. I apologize for giving offense.

i just received a box of old literature and in it is a booklet dated 1939 and written in a foreign language.
i have been unable to come up with what language or any translation of it from the translator sources i have, even though it looks norwegian to me.
it is titled "herredommet og freden.
Og = and? My screen handle is rather more boring than I thought.

Brilliant E-man, the funniest thing I've read in weeks. Well, I'm off to apply some Crisco to my cottaging pole.

Amazing - very likely you've addressed this before, in which case please direct me to the appropriate thread. Basically, I'm curious about you. Your long series of autobiographical postings was probably the finest thing I've read on this board, and I have a definite impression of you as intelligent and reasonable. otoh, professing to be of the anointed equals looniness to me unless you are using this phrase in a distinctly different manner than the WS does... in which case, why not use some other phrase? So, what does being anointed mean to you? Are you going to heaven, and others are not? Is your relationship with the divine different in nature than that of us "non'anointed" or only in intensity? You see what I'm getting at.
Hygh... do you do anything but type?

some of you know that i have stated i am amoral.
that means that i have no moral system.
no ethical system either.
It's "engrams", I believe. A Scientology concept.
Re: Hygh - all of his self love and bombastic pronouncements are, of course amusing and probably are a cry for help... but one of his 'geas' is basically saying that he is compelled to do things like killing dogs and hurting people - flouting society in dramatic ways. Could this not include serial killing, serial rape and other forms of self-fulfillment? In other words, Hygh is not really amusing, is he? He's a scary self-confessed psycho.
Re: shape-shifting. It is as easy to claim you are inhabiting different forms on the astral plane as it is to say that you are born again and have a heavenly hope (for example). And as meaningless as any other evidence-free claim.
