And you bleeding-heart fuckwits who think he needs some sort of "chance" can go to rot in your liberal hell and reap your liberal nonsense as a consequence.
First you set up a strawman, then you attack it with an obscene appeal to your authority. Sometimes you're clever, Farkel, but this is hateful and stupid. Try it on Rush Limbaugh.

I love the alternatives he presented. Oh wait, he didn't. It was simply your basic bash the USA type of crap that most of us here could care less about.
Can you not read? The alternative to war is to not go to war. When did war become our only option?
His other main point is: why Iraq? Any argument made to support war against Iraq would apply to Saudi Arabia as well... but we already control their oil. No Iraqi nationals were involved in 9/11, no link has been shown between Iraq and Al Qaeda, inspectors have found no evidence of WMDs (if Bush is so sure they exist, why can't he tip inspectors to their whereabouts?)
I love America - and I strongly oppose the policies of this illegitimate president. If you call me a U.S. basher you can kiss my rear end. Like the man said - Peace is also patriotic.

The Real Reason to Bomb Iraq
by metatron inthere's a lot of nonsense about the coming iraq war that's floating about.. there's a lot of dumb editorials and knee jerk comments about oil and george bush.. the reality is: they can't publically discuss the real reasons why a war with iraq.
is desirable.here's the real motivation - they want to create a progressive secular.
arab regime and fend off muslim fundamentalists.. comments about bush's iq are off the mark and foolish.

It is in our best interests at this point to control it.
I disagree. With relatively little pain, e.g. legislate SUVs for housewives out of existence, oil use in the US could be significantly reduced in the short term, and alternative energy could replace it in the long term.
I believe the cost of gas should be about triple what it is, to better reflect what it really costs and encourage drastic reduction.
So our best interests would be to reduce our dependencies on fossil fuels.

Frankly, I'd rather see someone come up with a new energy supply and let them all regress into the glorious 15th century lifestyle they all aspire to.
Aren't you more or less admitting here that oil is the reason we're concerned with Iraq. You're comments about the smart people around Bush misses an obvious point - with the exception of Powell (widely regarded as an outsider in this administration) all of Bush's important advisors have a big oil background. Condoleeza has a tanker named after her!
Your theory also doesn't account for the attack on Afghanistan. Nothing was accomplished re: the War on (some) Terror, and Afghanistan was regionally unimportant, but it is the only route for a major pipeline project which will now happen with the Taliban removed.
The desire to control oil supply explains everything, IMHO.

Illuminati ..their coming to take you away bum bum
by Brummie inwho has heard of the illuminati?
and the secret plans they have to rule the world?
geeesh...does anyone believe this?

FWIW, David Icke believes that JWs were established as one of many fundamentalist groups to keep the people distracted and pacified, and that the original impulse was occult in nature. As evidence, he points to the winged globe symbol on early literature and Russell's spiritism.
Which is the problem with actually reading one of Icke's books. You want to think he's unredeemably nuts, but then he pops out something like that which could make sense. I've certainly never seen a better explanation of the winged globe (an Egyptian symbol associated with Sirius and Horus... don't ask).

That a group or groups calling themselves the Illuminati have existed at various times, particularly within Freemasonry, is generally accepted by historians. Whether they still exist and wield significant power is, naturally, disputed. The existence of secretive groups of powerful men with private agendas (e.g. Bilderbergers, Skull and Bones, Opus Dei, Knights of Malta, Bohemian Grove, Council on Foreign Relations, Tri-Lateral Commission, etc. etc.) is also generally accepted.
So I don't consider it loony to believe that Illuminati may exist, whether or not they still call themselves that. And being interested in the subject is neither paranoid nor insane. It is merely prudent self-interest.
That said, David Icke is stone crazy.

Two questions: Is there a CD now being used by JWs more recent than the 1999 CD? If so, has anyone on this board checked how it handles the Johannes Greber material compared to the 1999 CD?
Apologies if this is in a previous thread.
Thanks all.
