  Why does the Society allow women to speak in the congregations?

  i know this sounds sexist, but you know what?

  the bible is sexist.. in order to establish that birthdays cannot be celebrated, the society references two obscure passages that mentions someone getting killed at a birthday celebration.

  however, nowhere in the scriptures does it say that birthdays are wrong.. but then, when the bible is very clear about something such as this:.

  (cnn) - shortly after republican presidential candidate mitt romney enjoyed cookies and soft drinks with the rev.

  billy graham and his son franklin graham on thursday at the elder graham's mountaintop retreat, a reference to mormonism as a cult was scrubbed from the website of the billy graham evangelistic association.. in a section of the website called billy graham's my answer there had been the question "what is a cult?".

  new websites have been popping up such as anointedjw.org in which witnesses who believe they are anointed are spreading the word that anyone can become anointed and go to heaven.. under the previous teaching that all anointed are part of the fds, then these sites would have much more credit because, after all, they are anointed (and therefore part of the fds).. there are copies of numerous letters to the society posted on anointedjw.org, so the society is obviously well aware.. the easiest way for the society to discredit these sites and thus discourage their message is to strip them of their fds status.

  now, the fds is only the governing body, not the rest of the anointed..

  Halloween as a Jehovah's Witness Kid

  what was your experience like as a kid on halloween growing up in a jw family?.

  i was raised in a jw family but never got baptized.. my father used to make me and my sister put old awakes and watchtower's in the trick or treaters' bags.

  we would say: "i don't celebrate halloween but here's a treat for you!
