The most logical way to view that scripture is that those who experience the resurrection are "as angels in heaven" in the sense of being resurrected with spiritual bodies of the same substance as the angels. This of course is not what is taught by the WT society however in view of the description of the resurrection by Paul in which he states that if there is a physical body then there is also a spiritual body, a resurrection to the spirit makes sense.

".......... but are as angels in heaven"
by Ice Blue inone of the many teachings that troubled my conscience matthew 22:30. does this mean that after armageddon there will essentially be several different classes of people ie survivors (who may marry) and resurrected ones (who may not) and those born after armageddon (presumably who may)?
does this mean the resurrected ones will be sexless - like 'drones'?
surely then they will not be the same person that they were?

Notice to GB - She became our little Girl!
by Amazing innotice to the governing body: today, as the arrest was discussed in the news media by officer corona, the sherrif of orange, county, california, speaking of samantha runion, he said to the accused, "mr. avila, she became our little girl!
" ... yes, the police, public and media joined forces to find the girl and the perpetrator ... as though she was their own daughter.
that is what we call community committment, love, and concern.

Amazing.....Love ya man!
How can anyone who has never had children (the GB and several elders I have crossed paths with) even begin to comprehend how far a loving parent will go to defend their children?

Shaking Hands with Death - Part 3
by Amazing inshaking hands with death part 3: .
the angioplasty begins: the cardiologist arrived from the other hospital, and started telling everyone what he needed.
more medical staff showed up soon after, and the room was insane ... just like on tv ... short tempers demanding this or that device or assistance, people yelling out my vital readings, and i got a brief glance of the operating room door with people in green outfits, head caps, and face masks bopping in and out.

You conclude your story with a profound observation that we humans share a bond created by the eventuality of death. With that in view it makes life and the here and now ever more precious. God, if he exists, must laugh at those who try so hard to put him into a narrow, easily definable box. For some reason, the Lennon song "Imagine" comes to mind. I can't remember the lines exactly however the gist is to imagine a world w/o religion where people live in harmony. God is not the problem...it is religion.
Having said that, I am glad you are with us today and able to share your experience and how it effected you. Take care of yourself.

Sorry I missed your post AlanF. You are right though, he does not openly criticize the organization however he asks leading questions which lead the reader to conclusions that could be construed as criticism. He seems to be in an uncomfortable place right now.

I know it is too little too late, however if you get your appeal perhaps you could use the Joseph defense. Tell them you were only following Joseph's example in protecting your wife. When Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant he set about to divorce her quietly so as to avoid shaming her.
Good luck on the appeal. I am sure it happens but I have never heard of a decision to disfellowship being overturned. I know you hate to be wronged w/o a fight but this could be your chance to free yourself. -

Justice #20 - Getting Run Over
by Amazing injustice #20 getting run over.
jesus said, "woe unto you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites!
for you tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these you ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.

YoYoMama,
I recently made the comment to a CO that when serving as an elder I always felt that if we were to make a mistake in judgement, it would be far better to err on the side of mercy. His response was that the elders are appointed by holy spirit, any decision they make is made only after a request for assistance by the holy spirit thus they make decisions with the confidence that the holy spirit has guided them and they are correct in their decision. Thus they do not err. It seems a bit like the two main rules for getting ahead at your job....
Rule #1: The boss is always right.
Rule #2: If the boss is wrong, refer to rule #1. -

My flood questions
by Moxy ini know these topics have been well-covered in many places.
this is just me wanting to compile a list of concise reasons why i am sure the wt interpretation of the deluge is untenable.
this is my first draft.

One other assertion about pre-flood times is that the climate was temperant earth wide. That is one explanation for animals found seemingly quick frozen in extreme northern areas. For instance a wooly mammoth found frozen and preserved in the tundra. My question would be that if the climate were such, why is the wooly mammoth wooly?
