Last I heard we were discussing intelligent design. Seeing is believing. For those that want to broaden their horizons and train their brain.

cofty could you answer how the single cell came about by chance?.
i know the argument for complexity in nature says natural selection over billions of years but this could not explain the complexity of the single cell the building blocks of life?.

“Random mutation acting on natural selection can’t build anything” (video 17:57).
“If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. But I can find no such case.” – Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species. Darwin could not find any in his day. What about today? Actually, there are many, too many to count.
The cell is filled with machines. One slight mistake and the machine won’t work or will malfunction. Two examples: Bacterial flagellar motor. Built from two dozen proteins. Slight modifications will cause it to break down.
The same goes for DNA. The DNA
molecule is a matter of linguistics. It is the longest word known to man. It is
written in code. To have code, one needs one to write code. The geneticists are
the codebreakers. Even
the basic of bacteria in hydrothermal vents need some of the above.

It is possible to reconstruct aminoacids in a lab, but not possible to make twenty aminoacids and then to connect and fold them into proteins. For that one needs instructions as from the DNA in the nucleus.
Yes, they can be synthesized in a lab. The emphasis here on "synthesized."

I do like the complexity argument. The most detailed image of a cell to date using rendered data from radiography, nuclear magnetic resonance and cryoelectron microscopy. As the video brings out, in Darwin's time they had limited knowledge of the cell. It is possible to reconstruct aminoacids in a lab, but not possible to make twenty aminoacids and then to connect and fold them into proteins. For that one needs instructions as from the DNA in the nucleus. The instructions are transported by m-RNA to the ribosomes where these are implemented. This is an information and manufacturing system, equal to none. For that you need a designer, architect and engineer to put it all together. A simple explanation for a very complex phenomenon.

I enjoyed this discussion, up-to-date, examining the state of Darwinian evolution in the 21st century:
here are some things i never really believed the jw taught...i just didn't really examine it closely.
i shelved it, so to speak, thinking no one is perfect and they know more than me...if i ever thought about it at all.. i never believed that only jws would be spared at armageddon.
i never believed the where in james, you went to the elders to confess being spiritually sick-always thought that referred to a real illness.
An example of this in my case, we were always reminded that we are the Egyptians that left with the Israelites. We are the foreign residents staying in Israel as "the other sheep." The anointed, as the "little flock," is Israel or the twelve tribes. But two scriptures bothered me. 1) "Jesus said to them, Truly I say to YOU, In the re-creation, when the Son of man sits down upon his glorious throne, YOU who have followed me will also yourselves sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Matt. 19:28 NWT). 2) "And I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel" (Rev. 7:4 NWT). Logical thinking points to Israel being all of God's followers, but group think kept my critical thinking in check. How can the GB and all the brothers be wrong?
why do you think many jws are hostile and rude?
or is that just my imagination?.

Sometimes people hold on to a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that's extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. As long as one stays within the limits of the instructions, you are acceptable. Debating is not allowed.
the claim that russia blew up its own pipeline functions, whether intentionally or not, as a test of our collective intelligence, and it’s worrisome how many fail the test.
as a former pentagon official put it, “a child could tell you that doesn’t make sense”.
they talk a lot about russian propaganda and suppression of their media, which i don’t doubt for a minute.
The US qualifies as a terrorist state. It attacked and destroyed infrastructure of its allies. What a friend to have. Balloons and UFO sightings are distractions.
jerusalem will be trampled by the nations until the gentile times are fulfilled.
— luke 21:24 .
the bible book of luke records jesus prophecy of the last day with his parousia including the verse about the gentile times.
Fisherman, I prefer Jesus' interpretation. Most attempt to pin Daniel’s prophecies to events during the reign of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. These follow the interpretation found in the book of Maccabees, one that Jesus rejected outright (cf. 1 Maccabees 1:54, 59; Matt. 24:15, 16). Jesus warned: When one catches sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, “standing in a holy place,” “standing where it ought not,” then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains (cf. Matt. 24:15; Mark 13:14). The Maccabees did try their best to apply Daniel to their situation, but they failed and the Maccabean Dynasty would eventually be overthrown (cf. Dan. 11:14).
Disillusioned, another point. If earthly Jerusalem still featured in God's purpose, why is it necessary for a "New Jerusalem" to come down from heaven (Rev. 3:12; 21:2; 21:10)?
