Cofty, if you believe in evolution, you have nothing to fear, except perhaps meteorites, manmade and/or natural disasters. But if you believe in a creator, that puts a different spin on things. Then you belong to him and you accept and adapt to his terms.

Will Jehovah...
by watson inwhen jehovah brings armageddon, will he let me live long enough to witness the deaths of my children and grand children because they didn't believe in him?
.
since i've faded and i don't promote worshiping him anymore, i am just wondering.. at least i'd know for sure what kind of god he is?.

I believe God will sound a clear warning before he does anything drastic like that. Not the type of warning the Witnesses give. Most of the world's population will never hear their message. So it would be grossly unfair for God to judge according to their message. If you read Revelation 11 you will see what I mean. However, after the two prophets had given their warning, it would be a good idea to make peace with God.

Cancer has been with us for a long time
by Coded Logic ina 2 million year old hominid has been discovered that had cancer in its foot - making it the oldest neoplasia found in the human lineage.
now, as to why cancer predates original sin by nearly 2 million years, i'd love to hear christian apologists try and explain.. http://sajs.co.za/osteogenic-tumour-australopithecus-sediba-earliest-hominin-evidence-neoplastic-disease/patrick-s-randolph-quinney-scott-williams-maryna-steyn-marc-r-meyer-jacqueline-s-smilg-steven-e.

Your question about the evolution of cancer is possibly the dumbest thing I have read on JWN since you accused scientists of being disciples of Dagon.
I find it interesting that you ridicule above notion. You are actually ridiculing the following scientist:
Therein lies a tantalizing mystery: In the time since that nameless unlucky soul got bone cancer, massive evolutionary changes have occurred. Things changed. Humans changed. Why didn't the cancer?
Scientists don't have the answer. "What we do have is that these types of cancers existed so many years ago, and we are seeing the same thing today." Odes said. "Normally, in an evolutionary biological situation, you'd see change." 1
1. Scientists find cancer in million-year-old fossil by AJ Willingham, CNN.
Are you talking about the sesamoid bones? Big difference between simian and human? And not something that will change without the help of the genetic engineers.
Sorry, you are forcing me to quote myself. Are you referring to the sesamoid bones?

WhatshallIcallmyself, I've been wondering the same thing. Isn't evolutionary change part and parcel of the evolution theory? Why would some life forms change and others stay the same for millions of years? That is the question.

Another thing, the cancerous growth in the bone is identical with those of today. According to the evolutionary theory, the simian changed and became human. Why did the cancer stay the same? The same goes for horseshoe crabs and the coelacanth. These also stayed the same for millions of years. They are called living fossils. No evolutionary change there, I'm afraid.

We are the only living species in this family that walks upright.
That's an important point, don't you think? Now, the difference between the human and primate knee is as important. That's one of the reasons why they are classified as they are. And that's the way it's going to stay, even for a million years. Or are we talking "Planet of the Apes" here? Only in Hollywood Cofty, only in Hollywood. By the way, I know of a lizard that can walk upright. It proves absolutely nothing.

Thanks LoveUniHateExams. That's the point I am trying to make. Walking upright doesn't prove anything.

Yes, Cofty, emphasis here on pre-human. That's why they are referred to as apes and not humans. The fact they they walked upright has nothing to do with the price of eggs. Some apes do that.

Coded Logic, take note, according to Wiki Australopithecus sediba is classified as a primate which may have lived in savannas, eating fruit and other foods from the forest—behavior similar to modern-day savanna chimpanzees, thus non-human.
