Sorry, denial, but you know what I mean. DNA qualifies as an information system. It consists of information of how to construct and maintain an organism. However, It's much more than an instruction manual, it's rather a blueprint. It'll take one helluva spontaneous mutation to come up with a single strand of DNA, let alone a nucleus full of them.

Above are the laws of information. Definition of information: 1) Not bound to its medium. 2) Massless. 3) Intangible. 4) Immaterial. 5) Abstract construct of mind.
Now apply above laws to the DNA molecule and its function. The DNA in a cell nucleus is an information system. It holds information on the structure of the cell and organism. It works with Algorithms in its reading process. One could compare the DNA code to a language. We know where languages come from.
Cofty, and the dance of the electrons. No, you surely have a problem here. The DNA is an information system that cannot fall out of the air, or appear out of the primordial soup without a helping hand of somebody. In any case, I wanted Viv, the expert on rational thoughts', opinion. I know your opinion: Denail, denail, denail....

Cofty, I wanted Viv to follow the reasoning, and point out flaws, if any. She's the expert, don't you know?
In any case, here's a summary:
Laws of information and information science are the following:
1) Anything material such as physical/chemical processes cannot create something non-material. E.g., information.
2) Information is a non-material fundamental entity and not a property of matter.
3) Information requires a material medium for storage and transmission (E.g. books, CD, DVD, etc.).
4) Information cannot originate in statistical processes.
5) There can be no information without code.
6) All codes result from an intentional choice and agreement between sender and recipient.
7) The determination of meaning for and from a set of symbols is a mental process that requires intelligence.
8) There can be no new information without an intelligent purposeful sender.
9) Any give chain of information can be traced back to an intelligent source (E.g. radio announcer, radio waves, radio).
10) Information comprises the non-material foundation for all

Viv, as creator of Viv'sw Law, I would like your opinion on the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLb_VYomZkQ
To follow the reasoning, you'll have to watch the whole thing. Thanks in anticipation.

Will Jehovah...
by watson inwhen jehovah brings armageddon, will he let me live long enough to witness the deaths of my children and grand children because they didn't believe in him?
.
since i've faded and i don't promote worshiping him anymore, i am just wondering.. at least i'd know for sure what kind of god he is?.

Onager, three conclusions at this point in my life, for what they are worth: Firstly, if a person like the God of the Bible did exist, time would be relative for him, e.g., ‘a day as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day’ (cf. 2 Peter 3:8). Secondly, if I was conducting a huge experiment, such as allowing humanity to develop, I would prefer not to interfere overly much, rather let nature run its course. Thirdly, I am convinced that such a person’s thoughts and way of doing things would be vastly different from ours (cf. 1 Cor. 2:16).
However, according to the Bible he is fair and just. He would certainly not be implicated in the self-serving and slanted preaching of the Witnesses who are presently judging people on the basis of taking literature, reading the Watchtower, clicking on JW.org and believing what they believe. How many people would never even come in contact with the Witnesses? According to such a system, people would be judged because of ignorance and sentenced to death. Doesn’t make sense. I just don’t see the Creator of the Universe involving himself with such a inhumane, twisted, man-made concoction of a scheme, lacking any semblance of justice.

Onager, even today there are men that believe women and children are possessions. The fact that you have elevated yourself to a higher moral code is indeed commendable. I am sure God will approve. To date he has not interfered with our development. He has only involved himself with the Israelites and those nations in the general vicinity of Israel. But now that man has come to a point where he is able to wipe out everything with his atomic and hydrogen bombs, the time has come for him to act (cf. Rev. 11:18). Interestingly, this prophecy was written up approximately 2000 years ago. Even then God knew that man would reach a point where he would be able to destroy himself and his home. But be thankful, he will give us adequate warning, that is if my understanding of these verses is correct (cf. Rev. 11:3-13). Each of us will be in a position to decide where we stand. So, as for me, I will be looking out for the two prophets. Hopefully, they will make their appearance in my lifetime.

Nope, the Japanese created that. But they are beautiful nevertheless.

Why THAT talk? Why NOW?
by dubstepped inin another thread there's a discussion about how the show must go on and meetings weren't even slowed down by the deaths or medical emergencies of ones in the audience.
for instance, one young brother's unbelieving father was murdered locally.
not long afterward he's assigned a part on an assembly about the resurrection or something.

In a lighter vein, I remember giving a talk on one of the Psalms, focusing on how the power of Jehovah should be our strength. The Hebrew word for power was "uzza" or something to that effect. As a boy I loved all things to do with guns (before I became a Witness). I knew the Israelis had developed a stubby machine gun called the Uzzi. The gist of the talk was that they would be relying on the Uzzi to save them, while we should rely on the power of Jehovah to save us. I looked for a real Uzzi to demonstrate my talk, but I could not get my hands on one in time (my bother had one, but he was too far away). I had to use a poster of an Uzzi to get everyone's attention. Needless to say, my mother was very thankful that I could not get my hands on a real thing. Now that I look back, I was very normal as a young person, but not a good Witness at all. Yes, and I admit, I have a bad streak. I still think of what the effect would have been on the congregation, me standing on the stage facing the audience with an Uzzi in my hand.... Would they have ducked or would their faith in the resurrection have sustained them?

Bonsai, you don’t like that one? Try something that you can relate to, the art of bonsai:
“The purposes of bonsai are primarily contemplation (for the viewer) and the pleasant exercise of effort and ingenuity (for the grower). By contrast with other plant cultivation practices, bonsai is not intended for production of food or for medicine. The source specimen is shaped to be relatively small and to meet the aesthetic standards of bonsai. Instead, bonsai practice focuses on long-term cultivation and shaping of one or more small trees growing in a container. Bonsai does not require genetically dwarfed trees, but rather depends on growing small trees from regular stock and seeds. Bonsai uses cultivation techniques like pruning, root reduction, potting, defoliation, and grafting to produce small trees that mimic the shape and style of mature, full-size trees” (see Wiki).
You are the creator of the bonsai tree. If the tree does not come out to your satisfaction you either burn it, chuck it in the trash or you plant it out. In this case you do not flush it down the toilet. You’ll block the drains. By your absence or neglect, you can let it dry out and die. You, as creator of the bonsai, will eventually decide its fate.

Sometimes one needs to be cruel to be kind. Say one creates an ant farm to study an ant colony. In your colony you notice a group of marauder ants killing off their fellow ants and destroying their eggs. If you are interested in preserving your project, would you not be tempted to squash the marauder ants? Get rid of the marauder ants to save the normal ants. Sacrifice the one group in order for the other group to survive.
