We took our grandkids to see "the Lion king" and bought all the"stuff" they sell, t-shirts, posters, CD u name it. It really was a blast, we saw it at a IMAX therater. the children loved it and so did us old people.

Btw,Grumby, i didn't know that for a long time either. I proudly join the ranks of the technically challenged.
Since everyone must have me on ignore, i thought i come to this thead and ask simon , why i now have seen 3 different strings for my IP address? I ask my teckie son and he said i should have only 1 IP address. I am uisng only 1 computer and have aol, piggey back on to ATT cable. i use only my alo account to access this board , but occ do use different accounts. I thought maybe that was why i was getting more than 1 IP number, but not so, i have 3 different stings and only use 2 accounts.My son thought that was odd. What do the not technically challenged say?

u go and have a life. Your mom is not old and unlikely to die. probalby she will not kill herself either, just based on the fact jws think suicide is a sin. Keep in touch, but find support and friends and have a life. And yes, being around someone like that can cause u to become , well for lack of better word, strange. Moving out is a normal thing. u are an adult. u weren't going to spend your life living with her.
U are beating your head aginst a brick wall trying to decide if she knows what she is doing. Probably on some level she does, but she is mentally ill and will probably continue this behavior without treatment.Even with treatment, paranoid schiz is very hard, on the person and the family.It's a dastrdtly illness, and will destroy your life if u do not distance yourselfl form it a bit.

New Years Celebration

when you were an active witness, did you wait up to midnight before going to bed, just to see the celebrations of the new year?

I have always celebrated new years eve and day, When much younger, we did go out, but now we just stay up and watch all the "the year in review" stuff, and of course watch the ball drop in NYC and have some drinks. We can't share this with anyone but our kids as"offically" jw don't celebrate the holiday, but i know a lot really do, privately in their home.On new years day , often we watch the Zone-a-thon or the Treck-a -thon. I usually prefer the zone.

The Society has learnt its lesson about predictions. They are much more vague now a days. But, the problem is that without "guidance" regarding the future, the rank and file are confussed as to what to believe regarding "when
so, ar u saying, that they R/F sortof force the WTS to make dates, b/c they need this guidance? or they would not worship jehovah without a date in mind?
I haven't hearrd this date being offically thrown aorund, i wonder, if jws will stay withuot a date.?

My Dad died Saturday unexpectedly...

i want to happily say that i sent my dad a print-out of some of your key material re;org, last week and he read it all...witnesses were 'on his back' lately, and he appreciated it.
keep up the positive focus..it is so important..i wanted to write more, but i guess i'm in shock 'cause i just can't do it...thanks to all of you for your support and help with all the stuff that i've been on the board about..peace and love to all of you and your families..nk

The big talk with parents - need help!

as exciting as that may be there's one issue that weighs heavily on my mind - what to do about both our sets of jw parents.
should we lay some ground rules down with them before the baby arrives (which they will probably break anyway)?

It's my children and grandchildren that have helped me "out"(at least stopping attendance) of the org. I have a really hard time with jw that don't want to be around their grandchildren. Most would, and u have the leverage now-use it.
