Spanking?

what about spanking?

in most of the world spanking (not beating) is considered a valid form of correction up to a point.

that point being at the time it is possible to reason with the child.

My son spanked (2 small swats) one of my precious grandbabies. i could have died. the child came screaming for papa and grandma. They are so wonderful, i can't stand the thought of anything hurting them. However, i do know that on rare occ, a swat may be necessary. I just can't stand to watch. generaly a change in my tone of voice works for the tots. or a time out. but with recent exposure to day care, they are picking up biting and hitting.even so, time outs almost always work.

I was beaten as a chiid and shamed. I will never allow that to happen to my grand children.

i was reading the february 15, 2003 wt which had an article on page 23 entitled "do not leave your child's heart to chance.

" on page 26 under the subheading "even from within the congregation.

" the wt overlords say: "although your teenage child appears to be in good spiritual health, inside he may be struggling with a divided heart.

My HS years were not so bad, there were a lot of jw and i hung out with them after school and all. The bad times were the pep ralleys, we r such freaks. Grades 1-7 were awful. My mom would go down every year and inform them i was a jw and what i could not do and she was really hateful about it too. so then the teacher hated her and took it out on me. there were no jw in grade 1-7 and i had 1 friend that i can remember. And to top it off my fmaily was inactive during grades 1-7 and so we had little jw contact, but were stilll not allowed to do non jw stuff. I remember once in 1st grade i attended a BD party aginast my mothers wishes, boy was she mad. I reallly got punished. But i was spunky and fought back. This was befoer they beat me into submisssion, which they eventualy did.

this is my first time posting here or on any ex-jw forum but i want to know if anybody else is not sure what to believe anymore.

paradise on earth sounds great and it was drilled into me for 11 years, it's just kinda hard to shake.

in the past, i have told my friends that if i were not in the industry in which i am employed today, i would have been an attorney.

to me, law has always been an intriguing area to be involved in.

not only does researching information that pertains to personal matters teach you the basics on how to conduct yourself in court and the due process of what is involved, you also learn many various laws that may have been totally foreign to you beforehand.. many times on this site and on other personal websites across the globe, religious entities, or publishing corporations, have been a deciding factor in what is and what is not posted, copied, and presented.

Hey Gang I am getting my brain scanned tomorrow

yup thats right iam going to have an mri on my brain...... i have severe numbness on my left side of my face and no feeing in my hands and arm......i have been hurt in 3 car accidents and have two herniated disks in my neck ( oh i pray that they don't have to do surgery......pray for me )))))) i thought i had ms.... a while back because of the numbness but they said no...... well now i get another scan andgo to see a neurologist ,,,, i hope they find out what the problem is so i wont be on

I had to have a brain MRI recently, due to possible tumor, r/o bells palsy. Fortuely it was ok. Now for all those who thught i may need my head examined-well its been done and i'm ok. (LOL)

The hardest part was the test itself for me. I'm very claustophobic. I had to knock myself out to do it

. Hope all turns out well.

From what i have read about Russell, he and quite a nuber of "end of times" religions all started wijthin about a 20 yrs period. so it would be no surprise if they all had some common belifs. Russell i know borrowed form the adventist and numerous people. Many were into this around the turn of the 20 th century. Sort of like they are now, with going ito the 21 century.

But see, why should I judge Jehovah's representatives on that one case. Maybe the elders messed up, maybe the service desk did, I don't know, see there is only one version of the story. I know, unfortunately, the elders will not speak on grounds of confidentiality so I will do what all you apostates distaste and laugh at, I leave it up to Jehovah to do justice. Am I crazy to take that stand? Well I guess I'm as crazy as King David when he did not take justice into his own hands by killing King Saul, Jehovah's annointed one. No, King David left it in Jehovah's hands and he handled it at his own time. Maybe David would of preferred Jehovah to handle the situation sooner, but still he was respectful to Jehovah's ways. So I choose to do the same

Jehovahs' people did have to wait at times for Him to "clean house". As far as i'm concerned-that is what He is doing now. Perhaps u and the average jw are unwilling to accept that unjustices have occured to children and women, but i do believe Jehovah has heard their cries for help. As far as i am concerned, the way any religion treats its children and women, reflect hevaily on it. Anyone who would silence child molestation deserves what they get. I no longer will i be silenced. If this is still the org Jehovahs is going to use, well He's got some house cleaning to do .For this org. to have any credibility, they must come forward and admit their crimes aginst children and women, and take steps to make sure it never happens again. they must police themselfs. They don't and probably won't until it cost them Money.
