the post about crisis of conscience in which the poster said he knows there's some bad in the watchtower (as brought out in coc), but there's some good in it too got me to wondering about people that stay for the good in it.. the united states makes some decisions as a country that i don't agree with, perhaps even object strongly to.
but i don't disavow my citizenship.
it's mostly a good place to live, so i stay.. if you want to live in a way that utterly conflicts with the watchtower -- homosexual, multiple sex partners, smoking, whatever -- then you have reason to leave.
It is a matter of what is our objective in life. A 'mature' cristian knows his role is to help. Situations may not me the same, my experience with the jw may be totally different than yours. Congretations as a whole may differ also.
The difficult part is supporting the wt programs when it is a waste of time or you don't beleive the objectives are to help individual jw, it requires some kind of personality....
It has been said many times that most jw are good people but that they ignore some facts or have been brain washed.
Many of us think that we know better than most jw, that knowledge brings a responsability with it.. You can teach by example.
It is not what the country can do for me but i can do for the country (people).
If there is more happiness in giving than receiving then many of us don't beleive it.
If you can help eldery people or anyone in need of material or moral support, the WT won't be able to stop you from doing it.
If we beleive in cristian principles then we should love our enemies (jw?) and help them if neccesary.
If we know better we won't engage in polarizing arguments.
Stopping associating with jw may not help them (what about the family?) . Shunning works both ways.
In a political party you have people at the center and also on the left and right wings.
We don't get out the country because we dont like what the administration has done or is doing, like vietnam or Irak.
True, unlike in the jw religion, we have the right to protest but inside you know it does not change anything, and most likely we never talk or write to the administration about it..

i had some money to invest back around 1999. an elder from my old congregation worked at morgan stanley, he recomended to me a stock named delphi.
this was a relatively new issue back then and he said it was a good stock with a good dividend.
i did not buy it because my gut feeling was telling me that he was pushing the stock and was in it for the commision.

jgnat yaddayadda , seem to be triying to "Make Sure of All Things". Letters from the UN and the WT were published confirming the issue, available on the web. Printing them and asking any jw to call the WT to confirm the authenticity of the letters, is a make beleive approach, it is up to them.
Fear won't allow many jw to do it. You don't have to say were you got the copy from.

When the WT associated with the Un F. Franz was over 90 and about to die and knew very well about 'his' mistakes.
Major changes in any country or org comes after the death of the leader... when it comes to countries death is accelerated if neccesary.
Powerfull organization(s) may have decided it was a good time to squelch the WT regarding its view of the UN.
Powerfull organization(s) may have decided to "use' the WT (a clean worlwide org) in exchange for some other benefits.
All WT heavies and elders around the world, with some historial and doctrinal knowledge and a sound mind, have been just folowing the 'game' for a long time or stepped down or resigned or the org. Some are definitively making a living out of...Is there anything from the DPI that confirms the Society did in fact regularly file these annual accreditation forms as it was required to do?
As far as i know they have not denied it, knowing how well the WT keeps its records, I doubt the WT did not comply each and every year...
A few of the heavies of the board asked the UN to publish these documents, which they so far have refused to do

The US auto industry may go the way of the airline industry.
I dont know what the real problem is/was with airlines (too much competiton or what) but transition is under way in the auto industry, some will be winners.
watch gasoline, hybrids and hydrogen/ICE to fully electrical powered by hydrogen-fuel-cells as soon as the oil industry find the way to keep control of the fuel source, not easy.
