Was I the most fanatic Witness or can you beat this??
by Witness 007 inat 18 after the quick build at our hall i gave up on a career {except window/toilet cleaning} and became a rabid pioneer/servant who, get this...made a plastic sleeve necklace so i could put my blood card in it!!!
i had one in my wallet and one hanging on my neck.. can anyone beat that?
fast forward to 2001 when fractions became a "conscience matter..." i remember shaking my head during that watchtower study...i destroyed my blood cards and asked my doctor to put me down as "no religion.

The Little Aggravations: Things I Don't Miss
by simon17 inthere are some major problems with the jws, doctrinally, socially, and organizationally.
from shunning to crazy elder bodies to guilt trips, there are many things that were really bad.
this thread is devoted to the small, insignificant things that just really really irked you.

When a group would go out to a resturant and Brother Pompas would stand up and say a prayer in public, with people staring. Are you effing kidding me?

God I already regret posting that. What was I thinking sneaking over to her cubby trying to convert her without her knowing I liked her... Giving her my dads name. Jesus.

When I was six, in kindergarten, I had a crush on a girl. So I did the only logical thing that a JDub kid knew to do. I put a watchtower in her cubby at school; you know because she would read it, convert and could be my girlfriend...
Being a JDork though I gave her the folded one that came in the mail at the time... STILL IN THE BROWN SLEEVE WITH MY DADS NAME AND ADDRESS ON IT. She awkwardly gave it back to me the next day. Beat that.
I have never admitted this to anyone, so... you’re welcome.

by cedars ini've uploaded a new blog article that addresses the latest dvd release at the current district convention, namely "become jehovah's friend!
" - the tale of young caleb and his brush with divine wrath over a plastic toy wizard.

Do they honestly think kids will want to watch this as if it's a cartoon on TV? How deluded are these people? "Hey Timmy do you want to watch the cartoon where the mommy makes the hero feel bad and throw out toys?" "OH BOY DO I!"
The viewer’s side with the kid who obviously does not want to throw it away but is being guilted into it lest they invoke the deadly wrath of god...
To your blog post Cedars I would say only that you seem to have already identified is only flaw, that it's too emotional. I would commend them on what little they got right and encourage parents that even if you ultimately reach the same conclusion with your bible trained conscience, that the way to get there is by reason and scripture not this patronizing tripe and mindless obedience.

Simple answer, please! Scientifically explain the origin of life coming from nothing!
by Silent_Scream inscientific method asserts nothing living can come from something non-living.
science is observable, science is reproducible.
a living thing coming from non-living matter has never been observed nor reproduced.. therefore, it takes faith in an unknown process to believe that that's exactly what happened in the beginning, with no evidence!.

Yeah I've taken a couple courses in astronomy as well because it was always a hobby of mine. The aproximate distance to the sun and the mass of the earth are actually really basic calculations that first year physics or geometry teachers sometimes do as practice problems.
lol Love me some kepler BTW
