Same question here. I guess checking long term posts. Perhaps meeting somewhere away from the local hall where it would take a little effort to attend and perhaps a location that might make a "Snitch feel uneasy"..say a...a casino... or a bar...?

The Effects of Child Abuse
by Xandria inbeing abused and/or neglected as a child are not the only painful and potentially damaging experiences that human beings may suffer in childhood.
whether or not, and to what extent child abuse and neglect (or other painful experiences) have negative effects depends on a variety of factors - related to the abuse itself, but also to relationships, in which the abuse and the child's responses occur.
child abuse, in itself, does not "doom" people to lives of horrible suffering.

So true, and so sad. Thanks Blondie.: "elders were more concerned that it might get out in the community than helping the victim."

In Your opinion, what percentage of the ACTIVE 7 Million Jehovah's witnesses will obey prohibitions on blood transfusions?
by Balaamsass ini have heard on this site, and others that some doctors say many "jehovahs witnesses" actually accept blood transfusions for themselves and family when the chip are down.
i have been told by hospital laison members (relatives) that the reason for the "bedside elder vigil" is actually to keep patients and family members from "weakening".
now i know a lot of people identify themselves as jws on old medical charts and such (according to pew research and personal experiance...so i am simply interested in opinions on active current jws.. my personal feeling is 2/3 to 75% would allow themselves or family members to die.

Why move magazine printing from the U.S. to Canada?
by factfinder inthe january 2011 issues were printed in canada so the change was made.. the wts spent millions of dollars enlarging and updating the printing operations in wallkill so they could consoladate the book and magazine printing at the one location.
it was in 2004 that they stopped the presses in brooklyn and began book production in wallkill.. now just 6 years later they suppossedly sold several of their presses from the u.s. and canada, bought a large new very fast press for canada and had to enlarge the printery there to accomodate it.. now the canada branch will print over 260 million magazines for the u.s.each year and all the expansion done in wallkill was for nothing.. does anyone know why this was done?.

From another post by Blondie:"Re: The Bethel Chiropractor Workers Comp Lawsuit.
"She said she suffered debilitating nerve injuries that have left her barely able to carry a laundry basket. The Watchtower Society took care of her medical care until 2001, when she and her husband were asked to leave and were given a $79,000 stipend.
But Workers’ Compensation Law Judge Stephen Goldstein ruled Wednesday that Upton is entitled to $400 a week in workers’ compensation payments.
“I’m finding they were not religious volunteers,” Goldstein said. “They were engaged, particularly Dr. Brenda Upton, in a number of work-like activities.”
The Witnesses vowed to appeal the ruling, saying Upton and the other 5,800 Witnesses who live and work in the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Brooklyn headquarters are volunteers, not employees."

Question for Ex-bethelites: Governing Body Medical Expenses
by sabastious inthe governing body must have health insurance, right?
i ask because i was wondering how much money has been spent to keep them alive to such ripe and old ages.
do they all just have impeccable genetics or did they greatly indulge in the worlds medical services to cheat death like the rest of us?

As far as loyalty goes..this all volunteer "Army" is far more loyal than ANY agent working for a government, corporation, or crime syndicate. Every YEAR EVERY Jehovahs Witness has his and his children's "Medical Card" stating "NO BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS" checked and re-issued by two Elders. Other than radical muslims is their ANY other group willing to sacrifice their CHILDRENS LIVES for the group?
Some groups, like the Mob, and some 1% Bikers may include murder as an initiation rite ..but never that of their own children........

Was The Internet The Clincher For You To Mentally Leave The Organization?
by minimus ini think it was for me.. i knew a lot of the history of the bible students, russell, rutherford and the "old light".
.
once i could see all of the overwhelming evidence right in front of my eyes, there was no ignoring the reality..

Undercover...Ditto:"It was as simple as typing "Jehovah's Witnesses" in a web browser and reviewing what came up.
Granted I was scared shitless the first time I did it. Who knew what demons would attach themselves to my computer and possess me through the electronic glow of the monitor as it displayed spiritual pornography for my naive eyes.
I was already having issues, doubts and questions before I allowed myself to search on the Internet. I like to think that it just sped up my progress in finding out the lies and deceit of the WTS."

I was sitting in an Circuit Elders meeting at the assembly hall. The Circuit budget was being discussed, and the numbers weren't adding up. When the question was posed "Any questions" I simply pointed out the numbers didn't add up and asked about a clarification. Over 50 elders gave me a look that could kill. Like "how dare I question anything" ???
By the way, the "Expenses" at the Assemblies read off the platform are a bold faced lie. They include "Donations" pledged to the WTBS, buried amoung real costs. Many Halls have been paid for YEARS ago. WHY have a building when you can RENT NEARBY faciliyes for $1-$5 per head (and save all the friends travel expenses?)..because the building can bury "expenses", secure loans, and someday be sold for a big profit.
