I went to a Specialist at Stanford. He told me to "give the poor thing a rest". Cut out all saturated fats, eat small bland food and drink A LOT of pure water for a week and see what happens. No JUNK food, booze or juicy hamburgers. I felt better in a couple of weeks without any meds.

Was There Anything You Actually Enjoyed About Being A JW?
by MrFreeze ini'm sure this question has been raised a lot but it is always good to look back.
the last 5 or 6 years of me being a jw, i did not have a very good go of it.
one thing i actually did enjoy was going to the international convention.

Hate-love relationship as a kid and young teenager. Had a wide variety of friends as an older kid with car in the 70s. Loved cong. picnics, potlucks and dances. Spanish and Black congregations were the most fun. Always had a line of sisters that bragged they could teach ANYBODY to dance..even me. I proved them wrong ! 3rd gen can vouch for that. Any fun times ended with the great "disapointment" and "apostate paranoia" in the 80s.

Ahh- Send the cash to an "offshore" WTBTS shell corp. Get the MAXIMUM rate of return from the offshore hedge fund, and a few years down the road have the NZ brothers raise labor and capital to build a NEW facility. We forget that WTBTS gets wind of lawsuits a couple of years before us. You can't get a judgment on non-existant assets.

Greetings! My first post
by BU2B inhello all at jwn!
i have been a lurker here the last few months and have been going through the process of researching both sides of the story of jehovahs witnesses.
i was raised in the borg, got married and now have a young child.. my wife is very much dedicated to the organization and will justify anything the "slave" does putting it off on the borgs imperfection.

WELCOME!!
Smart man for learning early. Keep digging. Keep the wife happy with family outings away from the Borg. You may need to consider switching halls, and taking a "little extra time" away from being a MS to spend more family time.

How ManyYears Did You Waste Being A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ini was raised as a jw and i haven't been to a meeting in about 8 years..

"mmxiv......
I wasted upwards of 15,000 hours in attending meetings, going on field service and attending assemblies.
In my professional capacity that is worth over £500,000 or $800,000"
Yikes- never thought of it that way.... 50 years...... :( I should have left with Ray Franz and Randy back in the day......but I didn't listen to my little voice and was attached to family.
Wow - too late to cry over spilt milk.

Info @ Brooklyn Building Sales
by Nellie insee....this is the downside to leaving the forum for a while - you know you've missed out on great conversations and it takes f o r e v e r to find older threads.. so....help a-sista out....what's the 411 on the mass exodus from brooklyn, the sale of the buildings, the $$$$ made, etc.
besides the obvious need to meet their legal payout needs (suppress all chuckles), has anyone followed the money trail?
wassup?.

Ever since the veil has been lifted from my eyes the move to the "Compound" has really started to make sense. They are a PUBLISHING COMPANY,and cult run by men with a paranoid world view. Upstate on a compound it is MUCH easier to control information exchanges and leaks. They FEEL safer from the "world", AND it frees up MILLIONS (if not a Billion) of dollars of cash. They have moved from "Flipping" realestate with free labor, to Hedge fund operation. When I saw them on the exclusive London list of attendees at the Hedge Fund conference a light went off in my head. If they wanted, they could have simply invested with Wall Street's best....why do it yourself? hummm....... BINGO! They are a Multi-national, religious conglomerate, with dozens if not hundreds of corporate shells. In case of ban or law suits they can instantly transfer LIQUID funds between corporations and branches. 1. They can preserve capital (lawsuit protection). 2. Almost zero oversight by ANY one country (privacy). 3. Higher Internal Rate of Return. Heck with JWs in every obscure corner of the world, every company, every mine, and every shipping terminal they have incredible opportunities to know next weeks financial news today. Incredible access to information, and with a little Theocratic stratigy, and a few sharp Bethelites (possibly offshore) they have developed the best trading scam in the WORLD.

I secretly went to college P/T as a JW, and ended up working for some NYC Bankster firms that vanished. Trying some new ventures now, and researching this weekend if there is some way the Obama multi- billiondollar expenditures might "make some rain" for some new venture.
I have secretly wanted to drive an 18 wheel truck for a living...at least for a few years and see all the hidden corners of the USA and Can. (As a good JW I couldn't miss meetings..now I can. ) Still can't convince the Mrs we could have great fun with the windows down and the radio blasting. It would be fun to visit all of you and blow the big horn as we arrive.

The Mrs and I have had a few JWs call us to "cry in their beer" about JW Dating sites.
Surprize!....... they are like anything else...buyer beware.
Much use of WTBTS "Theocratic stratigy". New couples shocked to discover real age, assets, drug habits and STDs. "How dare someone use old photos, photoshop and Lie...............
As for JW advice to call the elders....they are not allowed to tell you if someone is a child molester. Ask the P.O./C.C. s wife ...she knows everything.
