  in a separate thread, there's been intense discussion about how the gb is still seeking to tighten its grip on the rank and file.

  the latest evidence is the january 2013 watchtower which rolls out hugely predictable statements about not doing anything to upset one's (jw) family by, for example, being in email contact with a disfellowshipped witness.

  it's hard to stifle the yawns.

  I narly died due to my heart. Nothing like was described but an immense sense of safety, peace, no pain, no fear but release.

  I was utterly comfortable but lying on the concrete.

  Anyone here ever had morphine? or pethidine? Its nothing compared.

  The only 'odd' thing to tell was the paramedics voices sounded as if far far away and i recall being so annoyed when they brought me back.

  From the point of view of the movie. In australia it did happen. Today it would be easier as the 'Greens Party' and successive governments have all but disarmed the civilian populace.

  Young people here particularly females would go into utter shock that their hand phones no longer work and they cant call up(list them all) to come and save them, feed them, dress them, wipe their backsides etc..

  No I wont be watching the film and I live in the most isolated capital city in the world.... Perth. Get your atlases out guys and take a think.

  What would the WTS do ( have in plan) for such an eventuality..? My guess, nothing as they did for the bros/sisters under Hitler before the actual war broke out when they could have got them out via neutral countries...

  Intro/fellow abuse survivor

  im new to the site, as my username implies i am an abuse survivor, it was more then sexual, it was a very horrific type of abuse and no surprise the jw's that were involved were and still are being protected.

  i have found posts here to be encouraging and glad to see i am not alone in my struggle and my fight.. i have a constant struggle/battle with emotional and mental health issues from the many many years of abuse but i am a fighter and try to keep on going, but am so glad to have found this site, it seems to be a source of encouragement :).

  Questions on new understanding (FDS - GB)

  some questions arise with the new understanding:.

  was there a slave class between the 1st century and the 20th century?.

  in w march 1, 2004, it was stated, that the slave could not be a single man, because "acording to jesus words" the slave had started his work in 1st century and would still be in action in 20th century.. was the slave in action in 1914?

  this 'family worship evening' was brought in with the demise of the 'bookstudy' That is the BS was dropped and for a few weeks the Elders didnt know what or why.

  All of a sudden its to have a 'family worship evening'.

  i just bumped an old thread, that had each year from 1800's to like 1950's of the wt magazines, the links now say the pages are missing.

  please let them be somewhere else.

  i really need them, it's super important, and something everyone will benefit tremendously from when i'm done!.

  Look who's coming to dinner...

  since i have recently received all of my cooking stuff out of storage from indiana i decided i wanted to do something i haven't done in a long while: cook a big thanksgiving feast and invite family and dear friends.

  the friends won't be a problem, it's the family that mostlikely won't show.

  i've asked my brother who lives fairly close and he said he didn't know because he and his wife would be coming home for a trip two days before.

  Jesus told the parabel of the man who set forth a feast and his friends rich or ottherwise didnt turn up so he went into the street and invited the poor and turned away the rich when they eventually arrived....

  My handicapped daughter invited b& S around for a BBQ and a few turned up... late. Onesis couldnt come she was helping another with her hair !!!

  JW have no understanding of manners time or place.
