  Who pioneered with the promise of having 'Jehovah provide' and ended up dirt poor anyway?

  i ask this because the wt always bangs on about if you trust in jehovah and make that leap into pioneering, you will always be provided for.

  at the time i joined the cult, a friend was continuous aux.

  The same line of logic is applied with 'emergency survival'.

  "Dont put away food and supplies. Jehovah will provide."

  They have changed their tune on that one too..

  for a while i have been curious about the specific contents of the pages that the wt (bible students) were ordered to remove from the "finished mystery" by the u.s. government.. anyone knows where i can get those pages?.

  ah yes jail time. I often wondered why when there was the occasional 'resurrecting' of the the wts pricipals doing time in 1917 ?that so much was made of it. Still wonder, when they have set others up to go to jail.

  assuming those numberous victims of sexual abuse prevail in the court and ultimately, get awarded substantial amount of compasation, what do you think will happen to the watchtower we know it today?.

  Unless the victims call in the Police in Victoria then there is no chance of getting anything.

  and given the wts policy and practice in dealing with actual cases of sexual child abuse it is remote that any parent will go to the police. But the failure of the Traralgon elders (in a panic) to get their members to apply for a working with Children clearance as required by Victoria law will be something to bring out.

  (a) the JW all believe they are above the law and so dont need any 'clearances'

  (b) the T congregation removed the sign board at the front of their hall as it had the word 'ministry school' on it. It later went back.

  (C) the elders denied they ran a school (panic again)

  (d) finally the wts in Sydney being head office suggested that if anyone felt they needed a clearance they should get one. So this is a back down.

  Could this refusal to seek a Working with Children Clearance via the Police in Victoria be more about keeping individuals un-exposed?

  I fear the wts slithering out of this one.

  yesterday i had the duty of care to take our feline companion of 20 years to the vet to be euthanized.. i took a tin of his fav tuna and gave him a last meal at the vets to settle him as the needle and medication did its work.. he died peacefully and in no pain.

  my wife and i buried him in the garden next to a another older moggie.. i had the duty to email this sad news to the family who have largely grown up with him.. i sat in my back room and cried bitterly.

  i will miss him terribley and his head rubbs him checking on me once i was in bed and all his ways.. sleep well..... time for another cry..

  i have a sister-in-law that has hurt me deeply with her jw attitudes and decisions.

  she does not shun me or her brother but shuns one of our children.

  i am suffering from depression taking anti depressants to cope and i have fibromagiya with intensifies with stress.

  Do you have a friends or interests? It sounds like this sis in law occupys an indecent amount of your life.

  Gently i say to you..move on. By her hurting you and others gives her reason to live to prove how good/pure/righteous/obedient (pick your word) she is.

  I am married to someone who our daughter ha said 'internalizes everything' and this to has caused a lot of hurt and her health is suffering on account of it.

  Over the years she has issues she will not deal with and they have progessed if that is the right word into monsters. Dont keep thing in seek a counsellor or your doctor and listen to them listening to you.

  some people recently raised concerns about security of the site relating to whether forum members could be watchtower plants trying to obtain information about people.

  apparently, this was because a previous forum that was setup was either owned by or later handed over to someone who used it to collect personal information about people which was then used to harrass them.

  i don't know all the details, i'm just paraphrasing what i've heard and recognize that it's a concern to some people.. i want to first of all put people's minds at rest: i've been running this site for what will be 13 years next month.

  and he stopped when he saw the samaritan lying beaten up lying on the roadside. He gave him clean water to drink and applied first aid care to his wounds.. he went further taking the injured wretch with him to a motel and paid in advance for the mans accomodation and his care there. He asked the hotelier to look after this man and gave his word he would pay any extra on his return. "is he a relative?" asked the hotelier. There was the slightest pause and he said "He is my brother"...

  i know this has been covered in the past however i wish to bring it up again.. i was told that if hs wants a man appointed as a ms or "elder" there is nothing that any human can do to prevent it from happening.

  so my question is to anyone who asks why i am rapidly fading... what is the reason to "reach out'?

  if it is true that hs does the appointing then wth difference does it make what appears to the eyes of the partial judges who decide if one gets to be an even bigger suck up?

  I like the comments on hours worked or questions answered.

  When i entered the truth it was the practice to answer the wt question strictly according to the wt and nothing else. I thought to myself "how wooden is this" So I began answering q bringing in personal experience etc (BOY! did I get the ..look!) a few years alter this became formal way of answering. But as time has moved on and the wts has become more dissolusioned with their own failures dates etc I have noticed the ansers have again gone back to the party line. and if the wt should raise any sexual matter and watch all the jaws lock! The only answers come from older sisters.

  and what of those who attend every meeting and never once answer a single question? No brain? all fear? what?
