I once had a Circuit Overseer that told the BOE that a brother who works shift work should not hold privileges in the congregation. I found it disturbing since many of our elders and ministerial servants worked shift work, but as a result of that, made all the meetings and were able to go our in field service more than those who worked banker's hours.

1/15 WT- Guilt, Guilt, and More Guilt ! Black & White Cult Reasoning !
by flipper inthis particular article was discussed or touched on a couple months ago regarding the wt society's statement concerning jw's putting " jehovah above everything else- including the family bond " .
so i won't address those points in this thread, but there are many other points to address where the wt society uses guilt and black & white cult reasoning to control jw's minds with this information from the article titled, " let nothing distance you from jehovah ".
first off in paragraph 5 the wt tries to make people feel guilty looking for work and insists that if you get any job that takes you away from family- it will distance you from jehovah !

Do JWs Really Still care about the "Truth"?
by XBEHERE ini often read posts on here citing some km school or wt article and the comment that "now they are tightening their grip" or "they will now go after faders" etc, etc.
my perception is that the vast majority of jws, including the elders, are suffering from apathy and fatigue.
most simply don't care anymore.

In my opinion, the answer to the question of "Do Jehovah's Witnesses still care about the 'Truth'?" is "no". They do not. Here's why:
"The Truth" is a reference to the beliefs system and doctrines of the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society. The Truth is not the truth. Truth is something that is factually correct and does not change. The Truth is the current explaination of the Bible as told by the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society and changes on a regular basis (flip-flop).
There is only one thing about The Truth that active rank & file Witnesses care about and that is not being disfellowshipped. Oh, sure, most will openly state that they believe all the teachings of the Watch Tower and that the end is near, but most don't believe that or secretly disagree with their own teachings. If all current children of Witnesses refused to be a part of the organization and refused to raise their children in it, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses would fall apart within 10 to 20 years.
Current Witnesses are usually born-in and their entire support system of family and friends are Witnesses. They know if they stop being a Witness they will lose their entire support system. They are being kept in by coercion.

typical circuit assembly
by nowwhat? inon the plus side there was good council about families and then there is that special feeling of the brotherhood you get.. on the negative side, the d.o.
gave the "ol talk about the "busier we are, it won't seem like the new world is taking so long" talk.
that's fine if you do'nt work for a living.

Anything that brings you joy that is not related to The Truth tm is evil. That is the founding belief of Jehovah's Witnesses. That way you are forced to be so depressed you have nothing to live for by the New World tm . To find any joy from this world is a sin.

When I was 13 years old my brother, who was 7 at the time, was having nightmares. My father believed that demundz were the culprit and that my $5,000.00+ comic book collection was bringing them into the house. He put all my comics into our trash bin.
I felt it fitting to do the same with all the Watch Tower publications collecting dust in my garage. My garbage bin was hungry, so I gave it food at the proper time.

Newsflash: Murder pre-dates firearms by centuries!
James Madison authored the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It has little to do with weapons and more to do with people not mortgaging their security to incompotent governments. Society is less apt to defend themselves and rely on government to do so because we are told that is the "civilized" way to do things.
However, it has less to do with being civilized and more with promoting this fantasy utopian state that is impossible to exist under any set of laws or type of government.

Are JW'S "hated" in all the world? Or...are they considered IRRELEVANT?
by Terry inwathctower 90/1/1 p. 12 par.
8 not ashamed of the good news .
while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

From being in from the 70's until about 2007/2008, I'd say that:
1) Most of the world does not even know Jehovah's Witnesses exist and
2) Most non-witnesses who do know of them think they are just weird.
I hate to burst the bubble of the Watch Tower Society, but Jehovah's Witnesses are just a footnote in the history of man.
People who fit under the header of "Hated by the whole world" are:
1) People who hurt children or others who are unable to defend themselves
2) Nazis
Jehovah's Witnesses already define the word "hate" through teaching one must hate the world and everything in it. To them and everyone else "hate" does not describe how people view Jehovah's Witnesses.

I too put up my first tree, ever. It looks great and the kidos are excited to see their presents under it. In addition, I put up a Yule tree in my office at work. I have a Thor action figure topper. It is a huge hit with my co-workers. Someone even bought a Mjolnir hammer as part of the white elephant gift exchange. Hail Thor Odinson!

Almost every doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses and their evil empire is based on inference and conjecture of scripture. It is all pseudo-deduction.
"Jesus said, 'Go therefore and make disciples. Baptising them in the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit.' So, Jesus commands us to preach and, if you don't, he'll kill you for being disobediant at Armageddon." - Watchtower logic.
In over 3 decades of being a Witness, after literally thousands of hours spent in the "door-to-door ministry" I never once "made a disciple" and, unless you're an elder, you never baptize anyone. So, it was all for not according to scripture.
I'm now a devote aethist, but I still study scripture. At this point I can tell you this much: Just read what Jesus said in the 4 gospels. That is all christians can truly rely on. The "apostle" Paul was not a christian. Frankly, I'm buying into the conspiracy theory that Paul taught falls way short of what Jesus intended and he did it on purpose for a specific reason.
