Count me in. Reading a book about Mars is what actually got me on the road to leave the organization.

This is a CASTING CALL . . . for a scene in my book
by Terry inattention!.
i'm in my final re-write of the monorails of mars novel.. as you may know, the book is a sci-fi allegory concerning mind control by the watch tower.. .
i have a scene in nikola tesla's laboratory in which he is about to attempt an exchange between mars and earth.. the volunteers--instead of actually traveling physically from one planet to the other will instead swap minds.. need i say--it will go wrong?!.

Are you old enough to enlist in the military?
My only regret in life is that I did not join the military when I was young. I came close after high school graduation, but I was in to deep in the organization.
On top of having all of life's necessities provided, you can learn skills and trades marketable in the private sector. On top of it all it sends a powerful message to Jehovah's Witnesses.

is it disturbing to you when an author jumps into the flow of history and radically departs in order to drive an important lesson home to the reader?.
in this novel i have several watch tower leaders meeting incredibly violent deaths at the hands of --well, i won't give anything away.

First, I would like to thank you for taking on this project. I, too, wanted to write a science fiction novel that had an allegory of the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society and Jehovah's Witnesses.
Second, I would offer to proof your book. I believe I actually live relatively close to you.
Growing up as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I was and still am an advid fan of science fiction. My mother blames my father for this. She still holds it against him for taking me to see Star Wars back in 1977 when I was 3.
I found that many Jehovah's Witnesses are huge Star Trek fans. Gene Roddenberry's utopian future of humans living in peace problably strikes a chord with those hoping for a paradise earth. However, they miss the fact that Roddenberry was an aethist and his vision of the future was sans religion.
I think you chose wisely on using science fiction be the tool to deliver your message. That's how Star Trek got away with anti-war and racial harmony messages during the 1960s.
I think if you make a character that the readers adore and than have this oppressive regime who changes the rules as the go constantly harassing him, you will reach the hearts and minds of your readers.

I might be wrong, but I do believe the Dallas, Texas convention is actually in Arlington at the AT&T Stadium aka Cowboys Stadium aka Jerry's World. This is probably as a result of the stadium's security administrator. This is the same tool who tried to prevent police officers from entering the stadium with a weapon.

The only one I went to and remember went like this:
1) Meeting with MS and Elders - The circuit has two huge problems; oral sex and foul langauage. Any brother who masturbates or receives head should be removed. Any brother who says the word "crap" should be removed.
2) Meeting with just the Elders - Ministerial Servants; GTFO! Elders only!

An increase in security at this summer's conventions??
by gingerbread inwe've heard from friends in two separate congregations in our city that convention security will be tight.. the brothers made announcements this week and reminded everyone to be sure to wear their name badges.
those that don't may be questioned and have their belongings searched.
the same will be happen to anyone arriving during the sessions.

This only applies to the United States of America:
If you are entering a privately owned facility you and your items may be searched as a condition of entrance. Police officers are prohibited from searching your bags/belongings without a search warrant or probable cause. Only private security can search you as terms on entrance.
This is what happens when you attempt to enter a professional sports event or any other event at a large forum/arena.

I was born in and it took me over 30 years to get out. I no longer believe in the god of the bible. I also have theories on the true origins of chrsitianity.
With that being said, I believe you should read the gospel accounts. Pay close attention to what Jesus says, the way he acts, the way he treats people. It should start to raise questions as there is a difference between being a follower of the teachings of Jesus and a christian.

4. I understand your emotional feeling as a woman regarding the molestation of teenage girls and women by members of the organization and the manner the in which the policies are applied in managing the issues, but shouldn't you have waited for Jehovah's own time? Deuteronomy 32:35
I'm glad someone brought up Romans 13:1-7. Those scriptures basically outline that the earthly authorities are God's ministers. When they use the sword he gave them, they are doing his will.
Here in Texas we have a law that states it is a crime to fail to report:
Sec. 261.109. FAILURE TO REPORT; PENALTY. (a) A person commits an offense if the person has cause to believe that a child's physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be adversely affected by abuse or neglect and knowingly fails to report as provided in this chapter.
(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor, except that the offense is a state jail felony if it is shown on the trial of the offense that the child was a person with mental retardation who resided in a state supported living center, the ICF-MR component of the Rio Grande State Center, or a facility licensed under Chapter 252, Health and Safety Code, and the actor knew that the child had suffered serious bodily injury as a result of the abuse or neglect.
So, a person who fails to report is looking at spending up to a year in the county jail or 2 years in prison if the child is mentally retarded if they do not report child abuse to the authorities.

Someone beat me to the punch on Romans 13 dealing with the fact that the God has given a "sword" to the earthly government and when they use it they are doing his will.
In addition, when Exodus 20:13 is PROPERLY translated it reads: "“You shall not murder," which is very different from "You shall not kill". Murder is the unlawful killing of one human by another.
Also, Isaiah 2:4 " They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore," refers to a future time. Not the present.
The preaching work is an epic fail argument. There is a list of religions that carry on in a public preaching work.
