Too fat for the kingdom of God !
by koolaid-man informer jehovah's witness servant dick borghi along with elders in the lowell, ma.
congregation were asked by the circuit overseer to vote on whether to disfellowship overweight brothers and sisters.. this was very troubling to dick for two reasons.. 1... brother borghi thought it would be the responsibility of the faithfull and discrete slave to lay out a precise directive on the basis for this unusual request.
what criteria would have to be met to make such an awkward decision?.

How big a fee does the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society get for booking Jehovah's Witnesses into Convention Hotels?
by Balaamsass incurious.
i know travel agents and on-line sites get a kickback or fee for booking hotels.
how much is this fee?.

I remember congregations that were 200+ miles away being assigned to the Cow Palace for their District Convention. The worst part was that the hotel list was posted after the Service Meeting on a Tuesday night, which sucked for me, because my congregation met on Thursdays. So, pretty much every room being offered with the "Convention discount rate" was booked a full 48 hours before we were "officially" told we were all going to the craptacular Cow Palace.

Jehovah's Witnesses are taught that they are to raise their children to become Jehovah's Witnesses. The rational is that if you are a child living under your parent's roof they have a right to raise you that way. If the child makes it known that they do not wish to participate in that religion they are labelled a "rebel". Jehovah's Witnesses claim that it is a command from God, written in the Bible, to do so.
Jehovah's Witnesses who are parents teach their children that the doctrines of their religion are "The Truth" and all other religions are false and that being an aethist is evil. They teach their children that if they do not faithly live by their doctrine that they will be killed with all the other non-believers during an event referred to as "Armageddon".
Similar to Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses baptise children. I say similar in that the children are never given a choice to opt out of the religion.
When I was about 15 my father told me that I was ready for baptism. He told me I should let our congregation presiding overseer know because there was a Circuit Assembly coming up. At the next meeting the presiding overseer CAME UP TO ME and say, "Your father tells me you want to get baptised." What was I supposed to say?

FADERS YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED - BELIEVE IT OR NOT!.

reports have reached patterson that faders are much more dangerous than those disfellowshipped.
their reasons for fading are no longer new to the gb.

What is a "Fader"? Is that a negative term or an insult referring to those who were active in the Christian Congregation, but over a period of time slowly ceased to participate or attend meetings? How self-righteous and unchristlike to label anyone, let alone a label that is an insult.
Did Jesus call his disciples "faders" because the went back to their normal lives after he was impaled? Of course not. Jesus gave us the law of love and he is not above it. So, it would be unbecoming of any proclaimed christian to label anyone.
Further, is it not Jesus who is responsible for judging? To label someone a "fader" would mean you have judged that person yourself. This is encroaching on the authority of Jesus that was granted to him by Jehovah. By doing so, one actually challenges Jesus authority and therfore is rebelling against Jehovah himself in the same fashion as Adam and Eve.
Therefore, if you have committed the grievous sin of: 1) Violating Jesus law of love, 2) become haughty & self-righteous by judging, 3) rebelled against Jehovah's arrangements you have committed horrible sins. Further, to do so in a public forum such as the internet brings reproach upon Jehovah and his earthly organization.
Anyone committing these sins should immediately ask for Jehovah's forgiveness and confess their sins to their local body of elders. Especially so if you are the original poster of this thread.

Watchtower: "... NO MIDDLE GROUND"
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower: "... no middle ground".
today i added a new article to my blog addressing the disparity between what watchtower demands of the community of jehovah's witnesses in contrast to liberties it grants to itself.
in the end, the question becomes who is faithful?

Many Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States endured prison sentences due to the draft during war years needlessly. Many were offered alternative, non-military public service and needless refused. Now they have to live as a convicted felon with the mental scars of living life in a prison.
Truly an evil empire.

The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is a mind-control cult promoted by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. The Governing Body has already promoted the idea that if information does not come from them it is false and anyone seeking knowledge from any other source is to be disfellowshipped. So, the scenario you are looking for would have to come along very specific guidelines.
It would appear that the WB&TS has gone from a corporation making money off of selling publications to a realestate scam. Some point in time international, national, and local media may begin a blitz on some aspect of this. The whole Menlo Park congregation lawsuit in federal court may be the tip of the spear on this whole thing.
Congregations are being forced to take a loan from the WB&TS to build a new Kingdom Hall. They pay the loan, with interest, back to the WB&TS. Then the congregation signs the deed for the property over to the WB&TS. The WB&TS then sells the Kingdom Hall which has now accrued about 20 years of equity while selling another 20 year loan to the same congregation for their new Kingdom Hall.
Lather, rinse, repeat...
Oh, and the best part of all is that the whole process from beginning to end is tax exempt.

Society's position on illegal aliens
by sir82 inone of the things that has always irked me is the society's position on illegal aliens.. paraphrasing a us boe letter (can't remember the date, not a recent one though), elders were instructed that they are not "policemen", not responsible for enforcing "caesar's laws".
so, if there are any illegal aliens in the congregation, elders do not report them to any authority.
no (congregational) disciplanary action at all is taken against them.. however, illegal aliens are not "exemplary", in that they are knowingly breaking caesar's laws.
-
truth_b_known
Witnesses who are illegal aliens are not allowed to hold special privileges. The reason is because the are violating the law.
Witnesses do not report child molesters in the congregation to the police. Why would they report illegal aliens to ICE? However, in many states, it is a jailable offense to fail to report child abuse. So, I wonder how they get around that?
I used to get a feeling of shame when I booked people into jail and say their Blood Card in their wallet. Now, it doesn't phase me a bit. I booked a pioneer sister in my own congregation for physically abusing her daughter.

Mormons.
Missouri was supposed to be the New Jerusalem, but Missouri would not put up with them. So, magically, Utah is now the New Jerusalem. They just had to kill the natives, first, but it was ok because Native American tribes are the evil Lamenites.

When you are a member of the U.S. military you are legally property of the United State government. I have been told by persons who have served that they have seen or have been personally disciplined for destruction of government property for getting a sunburn. If the military is going to put fuel in their tanks and bullets in their guns they will put blood in their injured troops.
