How do jw's view this?
by carla inhow do jw's view the following scripture or how differently does it read in their version?.
1 timothy 5:8- anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.-niv.
but if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.-kjv.

We're going to impeach Trump . . . and make Mexico pay for it!
by Coded Logic ini have little doubt articles of impeachment will be drawn up on trump within the next year or so.
my only question at this point is what are they going to get him for?.
collusion with a foreign government to subvert an election?.

Absolutely nothing.
There is one real political party in Washington D.C. The party of elitists. It seems that no elected officials will ever be held accountable for their illegal activities because it will expose the lot of them.

Ghost image of the Apostle Paul appears on Google maps
by jwleaks ini found this ghost image on google maps of the apostle paul walking on one of his missionary journeys through the region now known as turkey.. evidently the google map car was able to capture the spiritual afterglow of the apostle paul while he was walking along a roadway on his one of his missionary journeys.
interestingly the google mapping computer was able to create an overlapping image from the first century and from the twenty-first century.. .

Apostate carts
by Normalfulla inso i've recently been travelling about usa and mexico and of course seen the carts parked at tourist spots all over and i had a funny thought ...if somehow we could get a bunch of identical carts together and print up a placard with a few key facts about the real truth with jwfacts logo and just park them right in the same areas ,dress up in our old meeting clothes and stand about with a coffee and look on our phones i wonder what response we would get from anyone ?
or park them outside assembly's and just stand.off at a distance ...basically the same thing they do to all society !.

You don't need a cart. Just make a sandwich board and set it next to their cart. Then just walk away and collect your boards after they leave each day.

Going on 9 years for my parents. I probably spoke to my dad over the phone about 3 years ago. I thought we were heading in the right direction. I think he only hangs on to being a Witness because he's spent the last 45 years of his life doing it and now he has a few precious years left.
I have a brother. I haven't seen him in 11 years, but he is no longer a practicing Witness. We talked about a year ago.
I have sister I haven't seen in 11 years. She's definitely all in on the Witness thing. She's raising her kids in the cult.

Do you remember the Mars Climate Orbiter? It was a probe launched by NASA designed to gather data on Mars. The problem is that the probe never reached Mars. The reason: NASA forgot to convert their measurements from English standard to Metric prior to the launching of the probe.
1914 has been a key date for Jehovah's Witnesses. It is supposed to mark when Jesus was enthroned over God's kingdom, all invisibly of course, and begin the "Last Days" of the generation that would not pass away. How did this date come to be?
According to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, it all stems from Daniel's alleged prophecy of tree being cut down and then eventually growing again. 7 times of 360 days of a Jewish calendar from 607BCE to 1914CE. However, much like the Mars Climate Orbiter, we have a data conversion problem.
The Jewish lunar calendar consisted of 360 days, as gathered from Daniel's prophecy. After all, Daniel was an Israelite, so it would only make sense he would prophecy in using his own calendar. However, in October 1582 much of the world adopted and still uses the Gregorian calendar. A calendar that not only uses 365 days a year, but every fourth year adds an extra day, bringing the total to 366 days.
I will freely admit that I am horrible at math, so please feel free to correct my calculations. With that being said I'll let the reader run the numbers.

This years memorial defeated me and I didn't even go

One of my favorite supervisors at work likes to use this phrase:
"We need to either fish or cut bait, but we need to stop trying to do both."
What helped my family and I was to just get completely out. There are 7 million Witnesses. There are 7 billion people on Earth. Your chances are statistically higher finding true friendship outside the organization than within.
I haven't spoken to my biological family who are Witnesses in years. I am actually happier being completely free of the Witnesses than being active or inactive.

Was it just me or was something different about the memorial last night?
by kpop inthis was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.

There's nothing like showing up to a party in which the guest of honor doesn't show.
"We attend to show our respect for the arrangement."
Seriously - If you know ahead of time that not one partaker is going to be present, why hold the event? It's like preparing a massive dinner party and then everyone shows up, stands up against a wall, and watches a table where no one is seating with food no one is going to eat.
Why not just have the speaker ask: "Is anyone here tonight going to partake of these emblems?" If no one responds, call it a night.

What on earth is happening to Arsenal?
by LoveUniHateExams init turns out arsenal were soundly beaten 3-0 yesterday by crystal palace.
apparently, the score-line flattered arsenal, not palace.. arsenal have conceded 3 goals in each of their last 3 away games and lost those games.
a few weeks ago, they lost 10-2 over two legs to bayern munich.

To those taking a stand and not attending the Memorial tonight
by doubtfull1799 ini salute you.
many of you, like me, are probably under enormous emotional pressure, whether from a lingering false sense of guilt from your indoctrination, whether from "invitations," and assumptions that you'll naturally be coming, or whether from outright emotional blackmail, even begging and pleading.
i am thinking of you whoever you are, all of you, even though i don't know you in person.

You just dropped a bomb on me! I never thought about the fact that the 1914 prophecy is based on our modern calendar and not the Jewish lunar calendar used at the time the prophecy was written. Good catch!
