  here is a paragraph from the1997 august 1st.watchtower re the generation change:.

  "recently, 'the faithful and discreet slave' has helped us to refine our understanding of the term 'generation' used at matthew 24:34 and of the timing of the judgment of 'the sheep' and 'the goats' mentioned at matthew 25:31-46, as well as of our view toward certain types of civilian service.

  no doubt some apostates would have been delighted if many of jehovah's witnesses had stuck rigidly to the previous understanding of such subjects and refused to progress.

  Tiatanic was an okay movie but I cant beleive the plot twist at the end when the ship sank and nearly everyone died. I just didn't see that coming. om

  nothing direct between me and her since she shuns me.

  but my brother dave told me something that just pissed me off to no end.

  Here is one for ya. I have the cong PO checking with Witness friends of mine at the hall to make sure they are not hanging with me(he must have heard they were)( I am not df'd or da'd mind you) because I evidently have some wierd ideas- like I have my kid in Tae-Kwan-do(ooh how evil I am)and whatnot. I havnt been to a meeting in 2 yrs for gods sake.

  Can you say slander. Im thinking I should consult a lawyer.

  For whatever its worth Peace, your not alone. Its the same exact shit in my family. My own mother did not want my df'd brother to give my little sister a ride to the store or sit with them at meetings. When I call them on this bull-shit, they basically deny it and lie.

  Its hard to come to terms with the fact that love can be so conditional and shallow(especially by family members). When I think back to my shitty JW childhood, it really hits home how little they really cared about me and instead were in love with the idea of me(pioneering and bethel and whatnot). All of my passion and talents were poopood as worldy.

  This situation has really brought me closer to my brother and sister who basically see the hypocrasy of the entire scenerio(and realize JW is a cult). And when we get together its truly a joy. So I guess all I am saying is to stick with the people who really care and forget the ones who dont. Its hard I know but Im rootin for ya.

  370 Bucks

  i visited an old congregation i used to go to awhile back.. they posted their accounts report on the bulletin board.. about 370 bucks went to the worldwide work, total.. i can remember 800 to over a thousand bucks for books and magazines.

  being sent to the society per month - about 20 yrs.

  ago.. subtract inflation and it's even worse.. meanwhile, the young boys are out in the parking lot,.

  Just because something happens by coincidence does not make it insignificant.

  Penacillin(sp?) was discovered by coincidence and yet it was very significant in its purpose(to humans).

  Good and bad need each other.

  my mate is flying this weekend to minneapolis for an interview.

  it seems very likely that it will result in a wonderful career opportunity for him.

  my job is pretty portable, and there's no question that i'll go with him if he accepts.. what's minneapolis/st.

  Is this world ruled by Demons and are we?

  to me, one of the most pathetic and lamest of all watchtower teachings is the fantasy that satan and the demons rule the world.

  the witnesses are terrified of these demons getting into their minds through everything from wearing old clothes bought at the thrift store to smoking cigarettes (remember all drugs give demons easy access to your mind.).

  they would have you believe that each country on earth is controlled by really big mean and tough demons (hey demons cant be nice you know) and they are actively controlling the minds of the political leaders in a global chess game because they have nothing better to do.. i was wondering then if anyone can show me a single itsy bitsy tiny amount of evidence to show any credible physical evidence or logical/metaphysical reasoning to back the jw ideological boogey men.

  Yea the entire demon thing is nuts. I have noticed that many witnesses have had "demon experience" but with my "worldly" friends, they never think or talk about such nonsense.

  I think that all in all, its just easy to blame Satan for bad and give God credit for the good. Its certainly easier than accepting or assigning rsposibilty for our own actions.

  When it comes to proving demon activity, facts are a bitch.
