there were a small group of ex's that had been invited by a local church to speak of their experiences as jehovah's witnesses..............god it felt sooo good to tell about the unbiblical practices of shunning and disfellowshipping, of the cult mentality and the wounds so many ex's carry from the legalistic mentality and behavior.

the two books crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom were shared with all present..........about 30 to 40 people.

Teri you are the tops. Congratualtions to you and the others who were there with you showing honest hearted people the destructive organizaiotn of Jehovah's witnesses. You are floating on air and you should be so proud of yourselves for having taking the step in proclaiming the dastardly deeds of a so called destructive religioius organziation. Kudo's on bringing up the issue of pedophilia. Enough can never be said about this horrible and prevailent evil in the Witnesses and there lies and cover ups to keep things under a carpet. Exposing them is indeed a elation in itself. This destructive religion has gone on to long we need to spread the word of their evil ways. There bloodguilty conduct will be their downfall, Millions of dollars are being paid out to those who have suffered. Of course that will never be the remedy but it has helped ease some of their devastation and punched holes in the WTS claim of having the true faith..

My heart leaps with joy for you and your courageous stand on telling everyone about this subject. And for those who stood with you. I hope a large newspaper article will be written up on behalf the innocent persons who lives have forever changed because of the WTS.

I hope you will get more invitaitons to other groups and churches to discuss with them about the destructive powers with in the WTS. Governing Body your days are numbered.

Teri do you know Brendalee?, She wrote a book, called ."Out of the Cocoon".? It is about her battle to escape the cults hold on her. And the destructive power it caused with in her family. She also travels to many places in the USA discussing the impact of the WTS cult and other cults as well. But mostly with WTS. There destruction of family life, just like all the things you mentioned in your presentation. She publishes a quarterly Newsletter called , "out of the coccon" and is filled with little tib bits of information she has gathered while studing about the Dangers of cults. She has sent me her book and newsletters. I find them very interesting and she has a wonderful way of presenting her journey away from the WTS and its evil ways. All proceeds from her book and newsletters goes to getting further education on dealing with cults. She doesn't keep the money for herself she just has to pay for the paper and ink and aside from that all the other money goes towards educating people about cults, pedophiia and other issues with in the WTS. and other Cults as well.

I have great respect for those of you who can get up before an audience and expound the dangers of cults.

The harm it inflicts upon good families. How we lose the ones we love the most , to an organizaiton that is hell bend on keeping families torn apart with ridiculous manmade rules on disfellowshipping.

If you would like her email I will gladly give it to you or you could do a google search ,all her info is there. People like you and her and many others will make all the difference to families destroyed by the JW's.

Keep up the great work Teri and God bless you for helping others escape from the clutches of cults.

27 days sober...In new territory

i would just like to give an update on my sobriety, as i have had one or two pms regarding it.. this time last year i went almost 4 weeks without a drink but found it incredibly hard each day, so eventually went out one night to see a live band in a pub and started to drink again.

this time feels different, in that i have the support of the aa and people pn this board to help me out.

i am not saying it has been easy but i have felt better for it.

First knowing you have a problem and addmitting it is the first step to recovery. This is great news. I am very happy for you. Yes it is a hard road to travel. I wish you the very best on your quest to conquor your demons.

And I am absouletly delighted you are taking up Scuba diving. Goodness I have always wanted to be a scuba diver and travel to Australia and go along that Great Barrier Reef. They say it is magnificent. What amazes me is this, the Great Barrier Reef continues all along the ocean floor t o the Carribean. No that is something to brag about. I will think of you often.

Be very proud of yourself and you mile stones. May I suggest keeping a journal as this will help you and more than likely be a comfort for you as you travel the road to continuess Sobriety.

Digdreidoo, keep up the good work and if you need to speak to anyone any time don't hesitate to take up the offers friends have made for you. I know with the utmost confidence you will do this. And just remember if you do slip don't browbeat yourself, start over immediately and always know someone is just a call away.

Big Announcement on next Service meeting

there seems to be a very important announcement this coming weeking on the next service meeting, forme it will be on wednesday 30th jan.. during the last 2 meetings they have asked that every batized jw be at that meeting and even to tell others who might not have heard the annoucement.. anyone here have any ideas i wouldn't be surprised if they are changing meeting times and arrangments...less meeting at is !.

As far back as I can remember in the 50/60ties the WTS stated that as they drew closer to the end of this so called system of things,and the great tribulation, God's organization would go underground so that the general public wouldn't have a clue as to what was going on, if a person wanted to know anything the person using their so called theocratic stradegy or9 lies as I call them), would perhaps be sitting in the park and when a person sat beside them they would engage in conversation feeling the person out as to whether or not if they had any interest in the bible and if so they would set up a private meeting and discuss the word of God, or if a person was in any other situation and there was a person next to them they would use certain terminology to deterime if that person was a fellow witness or a bible study. Mean while they have everyones name and vital statistics already so this to me doesn't computate.. IN other words they will have become so paranoid that the Big A or Great T is upon them and that in order not to be persecuted they would try any trick in the book to get a person of interest. And they use to tell us that if you missed any meetings it was your own fault because if you miss out you wouldn't know where the next meeting would be. I find that difficult to comprehend in veiw of the gossipers in the WTS.

However I find this ridiculous considering the fact the witnesses are still building Kingdom Halls. So that is no secret. Of course the change in magizine for the public verses the congregations copies for studings is an interesting thing. The GB will givethe appearance that Armageddon is just around the bend on the threshold, on the porch or in the garage or where ever. It all just seems to insane as far as I am concerned. There will always be big mouths and they will tell any other witness the times of secret gatherings and all that crap. So what is up with the WTBTS? Maybe they will an onslaught against apostates. Or they are broke and have to sell tons of property to cover their legal fees.

Is the WATCHTOWER PARANOID I say with a resounding YES...

Even if the WTS changed their policy on DF and DA, I still wouldn't go back with what I know today you couldn't drag me into a Kingdom Hall.

do you think a witness is more apt to leave the wts because:.

1) ....of indisputable proof of the wts's falsehoods.. or.

2) .....something that personally happened to them that caused a disenchantment w/ the organization.. thanks for you input!.

I was fed up with the crap going on in the KH and the conflicts with my ex and how humilated he made me feel at the meetings. I was fed up with being constantly under scrutiny and was often reminded by my mom and sisters I just didn't do enough. My spirituality was a concern to my mother and she started picking on me, so heck I figured if she thinks like that then I don't want this religious idocacy anymore.

We had a two families in our hall, one was mom and dad the second was married daughter, son in law and granddaughter, they went into business together next thing they are sitting at opposite ends of the hall and eventually mom and dad pick up stakes and go to the other afternoon meeting. It was an open overt family argument which was a huge case of stupidity and causing sectarianism in the KH.

So that is my story and I am stickin to it. Besides I looked for any reason to leave. I found it a handsome wonderful Greek man who captured my heart, body and soul and loved me for who and what I was and thought my ex was a stupid man for letting me go with out so much as a fight to keep me.

How many JW's are having doubts?

i wonder what percentage of current jw's know it's not the truth but have too much invested to get out?

more importantly, how many of the gb know but have no where else to go?.

I personaly think that figure of 10% is low and I would say more like 40% or more. You know how many people would rather be anywhere else than a meeting telling them they have to do more, preaching, more study, meetings, special meetings memorial, special talks, bible studies book studies. visiting the spirtual sick and those who are elderly or widowed and kids without dads. I venture most of us would rather watch what was it you said"SpiderMan", me I love movies. Especially pyshcological thrillers and murders, twists and turns and anything rather than be a witness for sure.

Don't get me wrong I do worship God but that is on Wed. and Sun. mornings and I love it and noone pressures you or puts you under a microscope so that some can report to elders what your doing or not doing.

I dare say the doubt factors are high in the organization

when i was in the organisation was in a few different congs.

every one always had a good proportion of them that claimed they had "me".

not sure what they call it in the states but think chronic fatigue may be similar.it had an age range between young teenagers and midle aged ones.

its kind of ironic how many of us had Tuesday Thursday and Sunday ailments. But the rest of the time we were in pretty good shape. I dare say the majority of witnesses suffering from the malady was very high indeed.

I had it too.For the last 12 years before leaving the organization.

okay lets look at this logically. Number one the WTS memorial date if off it is not in accord with the jewish calendar this year, probably an explaination. Or as Tula stated no one is allowed into unless they are screened and not allowing disfellowshipped persons to enter into the hall. Or all is not well at Bethel and they have to sell off property to pay off massive law suits.

Or they need security guards out side of KH during the memorial service because the apostates are causing undo pressure on the organization. or the organizaiton is annoyed that they have lost millons and don't need anymore scandals.

will they announce a special talk for only baptized witnesses to attend? like what else could it be, another prediciton as to the end of this system? Great Tribulation? Can't be that the signs aren't all in place and that is only if you believe that which I don't .

Oh hell maybe it is about the summer assemblies and special places for the privledged to attend. Hey I know they want more money. They are losing money so fast they can't take it anymore. Us apostates are killing them . Hell who knows and who is by the way going to the Kingdom Hall to findout??????????
