No Apologies
Wow....
You transition into it very well too....
.............instead of the bible!!
whenever "new light" comes out, they tell you to ignore their statement made in 1974 watchtower mag #etc, page #, article whatever, paragraph something-something.
i'm sorry, but i never went back to research what those old watchtowers that were printed before i was born even said.

Wow....

my wife told me that last night a letter was read from the society, explaining how all printing operations in brooklyn were being moved to either walkill or patterson, and that worldwide there would be consolidation of the printing operations.
i know there have been rumors like this floating around here for the last month or so, but now it seems there is confirmation.
has anyone else heard about this letter being read?
Seems inconceivable that they could claim a worldwide 3.2% increase even with their so-called "new arrangements" with all this downsizing and outsourcing that's going on.
i didnt excuse myself to anyone.....like i had to ask permission not to be there?
My thoughts exactly. My life is my own to do with as I please.

the branch office of jehovah's witnesses here in japan has released this "new" donation/contribution arrangment.
of course, you'll know what the real reason is for this.
Does that mean, that when an individual falls on dire straits, if they have entered the conditional donation arrangement, they can ask for "monetary aid" from the WTS? A LOAN!!!??? With interest, no doubt?? On their own money???
That's exactly what I was thinking. All they're doing is "passing the donation plate" around AGAIN to the r\f directly. They've actually found aother way to double dip. They get all the money up front without interest, You're only allowed to ask back "less than" the amount you've donated, and if you ask for it back not as a conditionally donated loan to the Soceity but as monetary aid, you'll likely be asked to pay it back with interest.
Incredible......
freeing your family from a cult through family counseling.
i believe a wonderful opportunity was just handed to me by wife, maybe.
she thinks thate my younger son should get some professional counseling because he is not doing his schoolwork and is displaying some classic early signs of depression.
Pushing her into a corner like that may push her further into "they b persecuting me" mode. If she's hardcore her "thinking about it" is just a way of looking for the shortcut that will save face for both her and the image of the WT. She most likely knows how JW's feel about worldly counseling. If you're not admonished by elders to pray more, go out in service more, make all the meetings, any other counseling is really of no use to you.
Good Luck though. If she goes, you have a classic opportunity to maybe have an independent observer trigger her thinking in such a way that she see's the light and chose to escape the oppressive WT regime.
.
that new cd the soceity was supposed to have produced and distributed this year?.

as i stood at my kitchen window, i could see them walking by the front of my house.
are they going to make that turn and start the small climb up the driveway?
"groan"!
I thought they'd welcome people not opening the doors after an announcement that they are JW's. That way they can more quickly "shake the dust off their feet" and shuffle on to the next door.
I was on my way home from running an errand a few days ago and I saw a group of them canvassing my neighborhood. It'd been a long time since I'd seen them out.
If they were walking any slower they would've been moving backwards.
i am pretty darn happy, i got the book for $13aud which is about $6.50 in usd, so i am looking forward to getting it and having a read.
i talked to my mum about it today and she is interested in having a look too.
(she is still in, but largely inactive) i know many here have read it, is it worth the look?
I just finished reading the book on loan from the library about a month ago. Couldn't put it down. Had a twinlking thought of not returning it but felt that that would be like imitating all the JWs who deface any literature that speaks ill of the organization.
Great Read!!!!
i'm relatively new here and this site has helped me a lot.
however, i think i'm going to need more help... i was dfed back in july just after my 18th birthday; i just couldn't take it any more.
things have been very hard for me to say the least.
If she is a decent BSer she'll be fine. She needs to ask those turds for help, to assist her back on a spiritual path. This way her family won't disown her. At least they won't be forced to.
That's only if her family isn't so hardcore that they'll kick her out even before she starts showing. At this point, some JW could care less about her spiritual condition.
Remember folks that these people value most the clean image they want to project far more than any loyalty to family members in crisis.
I know one JW girl whose elder father beat the shit out of her then kicked her out of the house when he found out that she was four months pregnant. Though this girl had already finished school she'd already spent her life enslaved to the family by taking care of all her siblings growing up and had no practical knowledge of how to take care of herself. This girl still bears the scars of being kicked out, homeless, and sent halfway across the country to her sympathetic JW grandmother who was livid that her parents would do this too her.
okay, my mom is elderly (80 yrs.
old) and not able to get to all the meetings like she used to (which is definitely a plus for me!
btw shes living with me now, since last spring, cause shes not able to keep up with things anymore).
she has no fleshly family and two elders are her executors and mandatories in the eventuality of her being unable to make decisions on her own.
She has money on "loan" to the very people executing her will and acting as mandatories. That has to be the most blatant conflict of interest I've ever seen.
They're going to soak this lady all the way to her grave.
