You wanna bet on this witness007?I don't know if they do, but I will.
There is no way politics will turn on religion in my lifetime or even the lifetime of my daughter. Religion creates lemmings that don't question what they're told and politics rely on them.
Whatever you would like to bet I'm up for.
I want in on some of this action. This'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Be realistic in 2009! Why Politics will NEVER turn on Religion in our society!
by Witness 007 incommunism is dead and the usa is a strongly christian, tolarant, democratic nation, it just won't happen here.
muslim nations are fanatical about their dedication....no chance.
it's silly to think of religions as a whole being banned....this is just a witness bad dream, never happen in a million years..

Every witness living now will die believing that the UN will turn against religion and theat when the system will turn it's eye towards them, it will be like touching their puppetmster's eyeball.
What a load of crap!!!!
They are always accusing the 1975'ers of serving the great puppetmaster for a date when they are unconsciously doing the same thing.

How do you keep your food down?
That certainly was what I was thinking......
I can't stand going to those affairs,,.....they are entirely too bland and tasteless. Qne of the first things they always want to do is sit around and talk about what brought them into the troof. There's always some bloke starting out trying to prove them wrong and couldn't.......the same story told time and again that JWs just love to eat up.
With the wealth of information out there in cyberspace, it's quite easy to prove them wrong or poke logical holes through their interpretation point by point if you're not too lazy to look up the information. Sadly, to many people get so caught up in the love-bombong that once they study a bit and are hit with the inevitable "Satan going to try to get you to stop studying with us" chapter, they shut down on any information not stamped with a WT logo.

That barrier is already gone.
I've seen many a politician prominantly featured as a guest speaker from many pulpits.
Religions are already heavily involved in politics. MIght as well tax their asses anyway.

Come Be My Follower - my wife is making the son read this with her
by insearchoftruth inmy wife has gotten another renewed zeal for the wts, well due to his own misbehaving (and i am sure conversations with the dubs on how to get him better) she has decided to make him read come be my follower.. am pretty sure i have a pdf of this..... my stepson is pretty good at thinking for himself and i have already shown him stuff on 1975 and other questionable teachings, last night when she finished reading chapter one with him, he stepped out of the room, looked at me and said "that was hell".. anyone here have any thoughts on this book, i think she is going to read it with him (and he is almost 16) so i would like to provide him a leading question or two, maybe this can cause her to think as well.. thanks,.

Don't worry....He won't need any therapy.
At age 16, going through all that those years entail, my wife also tried that crap with our son thinking that if she shoved WT material down his throat by making him read books an answer questions to her satisfaction that he'd do better. It was making them both miserable.
All it did was drive him further away. It was only my stepping in and putting a stop to it and forcing her to recognize that he wasn't interested in being a witnessand that that wasn't necessarily a bad thing that they have a relationship at all right now.
While the dynamics of your situation differ in that he's a "stepson", I'd probably suggest that you ensure that you're available as a sounding board for his frustrations as there will be many to come.

We don't need you to change to belive what we know, but you need us to be who you think we are (worldy, evil, etc) in order for you to believe the Watchtower is the truth.
That was beatiful....I really like that.

No phone calls please...
by rockmehardplace infor all those that read my post from the other day, i have been asked that if i am to miss any meetings i must call one particular elder per his request.
so on sunday i woke up and decided to stay home from the meeting and test my theory that this guy is on a power trip.
i "had a headache" which in all reality was a small hangover from the night before.

"Brother Call Me" asked if I remembered our conversation from the other day. I told him I did and he asked why I did not call to let him know where I was.
I froze. I had a million things I wanted to say, many of which were involving phones and places to put them. However, all I could muster was "I didnt want to."
Short and sweet. I like that!!!
Other than not reminding him that your are a grown a$$ man and that it's not incumbant upon you to report your whereabouts to anyone and you'll not be chastised by them on your own property, you did good.

AGAIN with the college bashing
by Pistoff inok so the mate took good notes at the ca and here is the newest on "higher education:.
the usual bashing of motives: those who want great wealth, prestige and seek it in a college educationcollege graduates don't always get jobs in their fieldsdrugs, drinking and sex are "rampant" at collegesthose who want to "snatch us away" are near if we go to college (isa 54)if we seek a college education, we are not spiritual mindedthe most disturbing for me was this:.
those who choose college will not get blessings from jehovahand of course there was the obligatory interview with the college graduate who disdains the education whe received.. .

I sure hope they're not running with that Awake college education crap again. It wasn't too long ago that my wife used to put "watchtower theocratic ministry school" on her resume's when looking for a job against my better judgement. It is no wonder she never got a call back.
I work for a community college in a job I'd never have gotten were it not for me going back to school and getting a two year degree. Right now, because of my length of service and the systems I'm responsible for, I make as much as anyone with a BS or Masters degree just starting out. I"ve started back going to school to further my degree and give me more options.
I go through resume's for job openings in my department as they come. Without at least a two year degree and a couple of years experience, your resume won't even get a cursory look.
