  Sex and drugs in university

  so this jw friend that got in touch out of the blue a few months ago after 24 years of shunning us agrees that the borg is not keen on university.

  it is so difficult to keep to your principles because of all the immorality there according to her.

  yes same old story we have been hearing for years.. if that is the case they should be fine with distance learning.

  According to the WTS, the absolute only reason anyone in the world ever attends a university, "in person" or on line, is because they are selfish & materialistic and hell-bent on becoming rich or famous or both.

  This is particularly hypocritical when you are hearing it from an elder whose living a life of luxury because of the education he attained before assimilation while at the same time, telling you that you should live simply, not waste your time, and that all that time would be better spent out in service.

  I just went to the meeting tonight!

  i love it!

  out of nowhere, the mrs. tells me that since she has a part tonight and there's nobody to watch the kids, she wants me to come with her to the meeting to watch them while she's on the platform.

  i'm actually still supposed to be there, but i went home (5 minutes down the road) for a 'bathroom break'.

  But it is kind of sad that Shirley had to ask who was watching the kids; it does suggest that someone thought I was irresponsible enough to just leave the kids utterly unsupervised and go home, leaving them in a room with more than 100 strangers.

  Pfffft....

  Forget that....I think most of the board understood the logic of your actions. I was guilty of the same activity when our kid was still young and homebound.

  I bail out all the time whenever I reluctantly accompany my wife to any one of those waste fests as they are quick to pull the hair trigger and overload my BS detector with their use of faulty logic, leading questions and answers, blatant propaganda, and biblical hopscotch.

  BTW......

  I've been watching reruns of Alias on Netflix.

  I think I have a much better understanding of you than I had before.

  Another sad non jw falling for a baptised jw girl story

  ok ,so this is my story , this jw girl came on vacation in my country as a friend of my girl-cousin who is not a jw but were classmates at uni .

  my cousin introduced her to me but she didnt tell me that she was a jw from the very first moment we flirt each other.we went on beach ,on bars ,cafes etc and she acted so wordly ,in fact i thought she could be a good one night stand with her behaviour .never saw anything weird about her that could lead me to question something, with the peak in the club where we danced together while hugging very passionatly .

  i tried to kiss her that night but she kept her distance , i didnt notice any bad on that.anyway, next day we flirt again at the the beach and at night too .

  Elders finally took me to the back room...

  after several months of leaving the meetings as soon as they ended or only staying for "the first meeting" then leaving the "second part", the elders finally cornered me at last night's meeting.. they said they were concerned about me and that being that i am a young brother in a recently divided congregation they saw so much potential in me to help out the congregation and become a ms.. i told them i was thankful for their thinking of me to help the congregation but that at the moment i could not due to my job.

  then the began asking personal questions that got on my nerves.. they asked where i worked and how much i made.

  they asked if i was going to college and what i was studying and for how long.

  Once you stand up to those clowns they'll back down pretty quickly.

  My advice is to only deal with them when you are in control of the location and circumstances of the visit. As suggested, never let them corner you in the back second school in a group on their terms. Control the place, control the time, the venue, circumstances, and direction of the conversation.

  The last time a pair of those clowns tried to chastise me, they were sitting across from me in my home during a visit I believed initiated by my wife. After a little small talk, they started in on the questioning trying to corner me on the significance of their authority and that of the organization and I told them point blank that we could talk about God and religion all they want, but, that that was not going to be used as a prelude to chastising me about anything they perceived as me doing wrong or lacking in.

  The look on their faces was priceless. Check-Mate.........B@#$Tchessss!!!!!!!

  I've just been 'Outted' by my own sister

  i thought that we could just fade away peacefully, but i guess my mother told my sister that we no longer wanted to be jehovah's witnesses so now all hell is breaking loose.. .

  it's a relief tho.

  i feel really sad and upset also, because my mom lives with my sister and now has been forbidden from contacting me or vice versa.

  Wouldn't want to burden the brothers, congregation, or any of the friends when she'll really "need" something. A perceived family heathen will do nicely.

  But were it the fact that this is your mother, I would've told anyone who said that to me not to bother.

  I was going to weigh in on this person needing to hear from SD-7, but, SD-7 has already responded, and its likely that this person will ignore all the great advice here in pursuit of what he thinks is his own version of a spectacular piece of a$$ anyway.

  I just havve to say that, being halfway through a masters program, that I have never actually "argued' with an instructor or classmate. I've had disagreements intellectually and certainly a bunch of debates, but never an argument.

  Very unlike the numerous arguments I've had with thick headed JWs.
