i can't go into the details for obvious reasons about how i found this out but it seems his purple badness made a stop into a kingdum hall in houston, texas today for their supposedly "special talk".
i was told his entourage stayed outside while he attended.
i believe this to be highly likely since he was scheduled to play a concert in that city sometime this weekend.

I wonder how long it will take for him to realize that JW's are infamous for stifling creative thought or any independent thoughts for that matter just as they tried doing when Michael Jackson's thriller came out. I remember people running around bragging that he was a JW till he ran afoul of the WT when that video came out.
where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 yrs?
what do you really want to do with your life?
are you living your dreams or just dreaming to live?
My life has never been better since I walked away from that WT nonsense and went back to school. I well remember the elders implying to me that I was wasting my time and my time would be best served by staying at my current minimum wage job and engaging in more prayer, meeting, and field service attendance.
My wife is experiencing first hand the changes my decision has made in our life (she no longer has to even work) but she's lock by a lifetime of "mental regulating" fromt he WT. She can't see ther forest for the trees.
the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that if the watchtower falls short to a significant degree then it cannot be jehovahs organization.
thats why apostates are hopeful that if enough fault can be found with the organization and brought to the attention of the faithful, then they too will accept the conclusion that jehovahs witnesses are not who we say we are.
unquestionably, many have been stumbled over a multitude of stumbling blocks.
The Watchtower has been known to revise things from time-to-time.
That's for sure. Particularly when they've been caught in a lie and any other time it suits their purpose.
last week i received a wedding invitation in the mail from an elder's daughter whose getting married next month.
being on the outer social fringe of the congregation for 20 years and recently missing quite a few meetings, i was abit surprised to receive an invitation from her.
the invitation is to attend the wedding(only) at the kh without a mention of the reception which i found out is being held at a separate private location afterwards.
usually it's the stuck-up witnesses that pull that sort of crap.
NOt just the stuck up witnesses. I think also that when this happens it's sometimes the elders or some other male JW dominatrix on an ego trip that get's his jollies out of yanking the chains of the weaker members under the guise of spiritual purity. It seems that even in that setting, the support of the bride and groom is usurped by what "looks good" in the eyes of the congregation.
That's exactly what they're shamelessly doing, although in their warped mind they're bound to define it some other way. If it was me getting an invite like that, I'd not even waste a stamp sending them a card.Your right, they are fishin' for a gift. I think the invite should be sent back with some scathing remark.
yesterday an announcement was made at my local con.
and i thought i`d share it.. the watchtower announced that work on the new cd-rom is in progress and we can expect it at the end of this year.. unlike the other versions you can`t get away with win 3.1, you`ll now need at least win95.. available languages: the one already available + tjech and japanese.. some of it`s features:.
- one window (instead of several).
They also, at least if you listen to my JW relatives, claim to be the first to use moving pictures. I sure hope this is a joke between them as they seem to think the Society is the originator of most anything useful.

I'm using Morpheus right now with a cablemodem. An ISO out there would be great.
That's exactly what I thought when they released the very first CD. I don't think there'll be any problem with getting a copy of that CD from many people in the congregation either no matter what edict comes down from the stage. Most of them with only a high school education won't know what you're doing with it if you chose to "borrow" it from them anyway.Fact is, it's just a trinket to make the members feel that they are modern and receiving something special when most of us know a CD is worth less than a few pence to produce
Does anyone else get the feeling that the only reason they seem to be tightening up their distribution of written material is to tighten their grip on the members they already have?
wow.
my first born baby will be going to college in the fall.
she will graduate high school and spokane community college this year with an aa degree.
Congratulations...
Sounds like she has her head on straight and knows exactly what SHE wants to fo with her life. Those critical thinking skills learned in school will work well to keep her from being enslaved to the WT and the old men in Brooklyn.
I'm holding out hope that my son will have the same academic success. He'll graduate with an AA next year.
Isn't it great to see young ones choosing not to become enslaved to a publishing company.

I can't wait for it too come out. Just last week I was trying to load the 1995 version on my laptop with XP, just so I can look up some of the information posted here from their publications myself and it wouldn't work.

I know I look forward to reading that scripture. Please cite it !!
