Is the Harvest Inn (Patterson NY) owned by a Witness?
by POs Son ini was looking at reviews on www.tripadvisor.com and saw that the harvest inn near patterson is highly rated (though clearly a lower end mo-tel).
one writer even commented at how nice it is to wake up to kingdom melodies in the morning there.. .
comments lead me to believe that the place is jw owned and primarily caters to visitors of the farms and bus tours of same.. .

Confessed my Doubts to my Wife
by cantleave inwell - i today i had the opportunity to tell my wife i no longer believe in the things that i have spent my life immersed in and that i didn't want my life run by 9 geriatrics in brooklyn.. her reaction was understandable her first questions was "what have you been reading"?.
i didn't mention this site but told her i was shocked by something i heard regarding the wts's ngo status with the un, dissapointed by the new light on the generation and disturbed by the flip flopping on blood fractions.
i explained how these things were at best hypocritical and at worst have meant some people have lost their lives unnecessarily because of the societies previous position.

My wife was born in, not me. It wasn't a good footing for a decent headship deal marriage. I've been browbeat all my life, it seems. If you could actually get my wife to THINK once in a while and get off of her self-righteous, self-assured horse, and actually GIVE her that 45 minute talk, I'd love to be there to see it! In the meantime, I'm trying to maintain the relationship, such as it is, and not rock the boat in our marriage. Maybe I'm an "enabler?"
I've reread my post to you. If I came off sounding a little condescending, I want to apologize. It's hard to project intent in a forum such as this.
I understand your dilemma. My wife was also a born in. How I approached her was to read, read, read, and study, study, study up on their false doctrines and how to shoot holes in it both biblically and with their own literature and history. And just when you think you've studied it enough, study a little more and practice. Sit in front of the mirror and verbally, out loud, play a typical conversation in your head and practice what you're going to say to counter every point with as calm demeanor as you can muster.
When talking to her, force her to stay on one topic. They love to fluster people by hopsctotching from topic to topic most of which bear no relation to the other.
JWs put in a lot of work and have finely honed the craft of reducing those who don't quickly recognize and counter the tactics they use to quivering streams of flesh. After they've done this a few times, it's like "crack" to them.......that's why they're so eager to engage the unsuspecting.
But, when you've been able to counter them sucessfully a few times, this quickly deflates their self-righteous\assured condescending nature.

I'm jealous! My wife would jump my case with a 45 minute talk, complete with scriptures that so completely corner me that I just have to put my sorry little tail between my legs and run for cover.
A 45 minute talk full of hopscotched scriptures taken completely out of context with the meaning of them expressed to you before their even read no doubt. What I suspect is that she shut you down by not letting you get a word in edgewise. by totally controlling the course and direction of the conversation by steering ot towards the usual WT talking points, and by talking in a condescending chastising way.
Sorry, absent WT litter-ature, there is no biblical explanations for their doing the horizontal slam dance with the UN, the flickering old and new light, and their flopping around on blood.

Ordained Ministers of J.W. part 1
by bobld inbaptisms are usually performed at assemblies.at the conclusion of the baptism talk, the baptism candidates are asked two q.affirmative answers qualifies the candidates as ordained ministers of j.w..we all have seen some candidates as young as 13 years, some as young as 12 years and even some as young as 9 years old.now in the eyes of the wbts these are qualified ordained ministers.. to my way of thinking these ordained ministers should be qualified to give sound advise or council.example,a 17 year old teenage boy has a problem with masturbation and is seeking advise.do you think he would receive sound advise on his masturbation problem from a 9 year old ordained minister of j.w.
(girl).in other religions this ordained minister would be qualified but i don't think a j.w.
is.. bob.

I would just like to stick up for all the 14 year olds that are not picking out baby clothes or being thrown into a cult, but are becoming responsible young adults, learning and growing without the pressure of trying to convert anyone into a religion they are not mature enough to fully know about.
Thank you. Not all teenagers who are not geting dunked at WT conventions are running causing the mayhem and trying to screw every and each other in site.I'd say that a large majority of them are working on becoming responsible adults contrary to what those old geriatric in Brooklyn lead their apologists to believe.

That's what happens when you're trying to discuss things with idiots.
They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I've watched a tape of that drama that was given at one of the assemblies in Houston. In that rendition, the character Al was white.
I had to bite my tongue hard when the line to the effect of Nobody can really love you unless they love jehovah crap was mimed.
