  question for those with husbands/wives in the borg

  how do you respond when they question your enlightenment?

  do you find yourself holding back explaining specific doctrinal flaws or let it fly both barrels?

  i know we want our loved one to see things for what they are but even a tactfull response will cause the borg teachings to take over and everything becomes an absolute with my wife.

  Me and my wife are at the same empasse as you are. She knows I can turn all the faulty reasoning she uses to justify the WTS on its ear and expose it's self serfing nature. She also hasn't pull the "you're of Satan" card with me either, at least not to my face.

  That would probably be THE last straw for me. If I am to be so Satanic as to have have provided her the privilege of not having to work for the last 15 years, she'd be challenged to see if her precious WT Soceity and her "friends" would be so benevolent.

  My wife has asked me to tone it down

  lately i've been making a lot of negative comments about the wts at family gatherings, trying to plant seeds of doubt whenever i can.

  but my wife thinks i'm going overboard and starting to raise suspicion.

  we had a huge argument last night because i told her i'd rather not go to the gatherings at all than to stay quiet.

  Why can't they just tone it down?

  Why is it that they get to speak out gushing about the Soceity around people they know to not feel the same way, yet have the audacity to get angry when you speak your mind as well.

  Just got done watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

  my wife and i just watched the series finale of ds9.

  we watched all 174 episodes and i gotta tell ya, it was a very enjoyable show.

  i never watched it when it was on tv and i am a big star trek fan.

  If you liked DS9, I'd suggest watching the Babylon5 series. It is a far superior show in both story lines and execution than DS9. In fact, the whole concept of DS9 was stolen from the producers of B5. The producers of Star Trek only got to market faster because they already had the Star Trek Universe infrastructure in place.

  2 nice ladys called on me the other day , as one started her "speach" the other one looked embarresed , i interupted and said to the embarresed one "you know why im not interested in your religion ,dont you " she replied "yes im sorry i couldnt rember which one you lived in " (i had met her at my door some months ago , and explained that my daughter was raped as a child by a man i had met at the kingdom hall , and some jws support him despite him abusing other jws etc , i had told of the paedpphile problem in the religion and my jw inlaws dont visit my little girl because her daddy is a disfellowshipped man , which i think is very unchristian) the other lady then started admiring my dress , then my little girl appeared and she said how pretty she was etc, i said goodbye and closed the door , i wish i had heard what the 2nd lady had said to her friend in explanation for why i was not interested !

  the annoying thing is my little girl then wanted to know who they are and what did they want to talk about , so i explained they were in "that religion that grandma is in "that stops her coming to see daddy , which upset her , then hubby came back from work later in a good mood untill i told him of the visit that had upset our little girl and then he was moody with me and said "dont talk to them again , next time tell them to be made a "do not call " for ever and never ever review it !is it possible to do that in our situation ?

  i dont want my family life upset .

  I agree with having a sign put up in principle, but, why should any householder be forced to foul up the front of their house with a sign to get respite from a paricular group of people?

  I hear JWs use that excuse all the time to ignore signs and even DNC notices on territory with the rationalization that the original petitioner may have moved or some other such nonsense. They demonstrate no respect for anyone's privacy in favor of invading it any time they want and doing as they please.

  I think it would be interesting is a whole neighborhood of people would show up in series at one of their KHs ringing the doorbell and knockingon their door during meeting night wanting to talk about their religion and see if they like it.

  What have you achieved after leaving the Watchtower Organization?

  i was curious to read what you have achieved and accomplished since leaving the watchtower society?.

  in your opinion are you heading toward the success of your goals?.

  personally i am determined to have something near the life i was meant to have before the watchtower organization got a hold of my mind and bent it towards their own purposes and uses.. i think many here would be overjoyed to hear of your successes!.

  I have taken back complete authority over the use of the greatest resources God has given me, control over MY resources ... MY time... MY Life!!!

  I've got a fairly decent job with benefits. I've just finished my second two-year college degree and am on my way to finishing up a Bachelors next winter. From there, I have plans to finish a masters, hopefully just in time for the economy to come roaring back.

  It was insanely expensive for it's time. When I was in, I remember taking my wife there for a day trip one time to show her where it was. I remember taking a tour of the facility during its construction where, in the back, they showed us the living quarters for the full time caretaker that would be stationed there.

  Personal thoughts as a new parent

  i'm in the living room, watching my wife interact with our baby girl.

  the pure joy and innocence emanating from my beautiful baby is beyond anything i could have every imagined.

  i see the smile on my wife's face.

  Just graduated with a second AA degree from the local community college. My first was an AAS degree I got years ago during my awakening from WT stupor. Moving on to a local university where all my hours transferred into a program whereas I'll be finished with a Bachelors in December of 2011.

  I plan on having a masters degree by the end of 2013 just in time for my 49th birthday.

  Time to go from Ministerial Servant to Elder

  what is the shortest timeframe you've seen for one to go from ministerial servant to an elder if he:.

  is on good terms with all elders and the circuit overseer.gives the co a green handout to help out with his expenses on each visit.has the co over for a meal each visit.has phone number and email of co and communicates at least every other month - just to chat about how things are going, good service experiences, etc.

  (as any other friend would.

  Any person doing all that crap should already be a Elder or a CO.

  They wouldn't have time for anything else.
