  Tell Me, Why Do JWs Suck To You???

  what reasons do you have about why the witness religion is so crummy?.

  one main reason is that they say "we have the truth.

  Born Againers and that Small Voice

  my born again neighbor keeps talking about a small voice that he and those in his church hear.

  a poster here also mentioned it:.

  i let my "little voice" inside tell me yes, do it or no dont....so far since i accepted the real truth (1989) has not led me astray i believe that is the holy spirit> that little voice -because the bible says the holy spirit will teach you all things....i am still learning but it is wonderful to know i am saved by grace no works,,,,,,,,just faith.. can any born again christians here clarify this?

  The 'Trinity' doctrine is very hard to put into words and may not even seem logical in human understanding. But, the 'still small voice' can verify if it is true or not and Holy Spirit can teach you how it possible to understand the nature of God.

  I personally do not think a person has to understand or accept the Trinity to hear that 'small voice'. My opinion.

  as i stand on the #7 train going home after dropping my daughter off at school, i started thinking about this crowded train; and all of the people on it.

  most are going to their jobs in manhattan.

  Our individual part in exposing the Watchtower for what it really is, might be 'miniscule' also, but we all add a little to the mountain of evidence that it is not a Godly Organization.

  My Bethel Experience Part 15

  the courtship from hell.......i started driving up to rhode island in september of 1972. i would go about every other week.

  i needed to "step down" as a book study servant, because at the time daryl christianson had come up with this brillant idea that all the book study conductors should visit everyone in their own book studies and everyone in someone else's book studies every 2 months.........so between, bethel, and a part time "g" job, going up to rhode island and shepparding everyone in the book studies, it was just to much.

  so for the first time in my life, i declined a "privilege of service"........it didn't feel that bad......and in fact felt damn good.......little did i know i was leaving one hell for another one.. what i 'm about to tell you...........is the absolute truth!..........we had 2 dates in a year and a half........that is two dates in 18 months.........."2" dates...........the only time they would let us be together with out a chaperone was in the field service...........the whole courtship was spent on her parents couch in the living room......with one of them in the other room!

  I went to sleep at the wheel of a brand new Jeep Laredo right in broad daylight, in the afternoon. I shouldn't be here today!

  I then cut back on my hectic schedule as an Elder to something more sane.

  The thought comes from the Scripture in 1 Kings 19:11-12 concerning how God spoke to Elisha. Of course God speaks many ways to individuals such as through other people, events, scriptures, etc., but also speaks to us in 'a still small voice' or as the NIV calls it, 'a gentle whisper'!

  Eldership Apprentice Program

  our visiting co mentioned that this is a new arrangement that the society is implementing shortly.

  it was apparently brought out at the last elders school.

  does anyone know what this consists of?.

  Well a lot of individuals were put in as Elders who did not know much of anything, no less counseling others on how to live etc. So, maybe they need a 'Trainee' program for such ones so as not to get the Organization in trouble in the future.

  Since they are big on wearing 'badges' at the assemblies, I would suggest they also make some badges that say 'Elder Trainee' so that people will use caution when asking life important questions to them.

  Cold Reading and the supernatural

  i just finished doing a consultation with a woman who is still struggling with guilt and manipulation left over from the watchtower, and i introduced her to the concept of cold reading.

  i think its good for people to understand this subject, something very important in exit-counseling, when people feel that a group or leader is right because they know so much that seems otherwise unknowable.

  i thought i would share this article for some of you who aren't familiar with the subject.randy.
