  Restrictions

  what kind of restrictions are people put under when their behaviour has been considered worthy of disfellowshipping but have managed to avoid the big "d"?.

  me (going back a bit):.

  1. never to be in the company of the lady unchaperoned although we were "betrothed".. 2. removed from ministerial servants position.. 3. not allowed to pray in the congregation at all, including book study.. 4. removed as watchtower study conductor.. 5. removed as public speaker and talks at service meetings.. 6. removed as pioneer.. 7. report to po once a month.. amazingly, i missed none of those things and relished the freedom from responsibility.

  Even though I wasn`t attending meetings......BORING!

  My restriction was:

  "I wasn`t allowed to answer at meetings."......LOL!!..

  Did they think I would start going to meetings, so I couldn`t answer at meetings?!

  I couldn`t handle the stupid behaviour of the average JW and/or JW Elder.

  "We dont mourn the dead"

  i remember a brother making the above statement in regards to an elderly sister who had passed.

  he stated we don't mourn or even visit grave sites because we have a hope that jah will resurrect the dead.

  it seemed really creepy at the time, hell, even jesus wept when lazarus died.

  hello people,.

  i was born in but long time faded.

  i think i hold current jws to a higher standard than they now maintain.. here's the thing; my father is very old, in his nineties and been a jdub for over 60 years and even made it to elder till he got too old.on a recent visit my siblings and dad were saying how wonderful that veterans affairs were.

  I have long thought it odd that they (staunch JWs) would accept this help with pride and Dad even said "I got shot at and caught Malaria so my conscience is clear".

  What happened to pacifism and "no part of the world" etc?

  If you served in the military.
