Thanks, Free2Think! I'll look forward to meeting you then, too!
FreeChick -- Katie went to Castillo. Is that where you will be going? I'll e-mail her re: recommendations. She didn't go to a gym -- she and a teacher had a joke that walking up and down the hills in the city were great for a "culo duro." ;)

Free2Think --
They are pretty much trying to cover ground where neither has been before. That's pretty much everywhere but Spain for my daughter, but her cousin has already been to England. Actually, she's also been to Paris, Geneva, and Annecy (France) -- the latter of which she found so beautiful they are going back so my daughter can see where her cousin would like to be married some day! So, Belgium, Germany, other parts of Switzerland, maybe a quick drive through Italy, and back across the South of France to see Perpignan and Barcelona (the girls have Catalunyan roots) to where they began is the order of the day.
Maybe I'LL bring them to England when I come -- which I want to do within the next couple of years.

Why, exactly, are you here?
by animal inwhy, exactly, are you here on jwd?.
are you out of the jw's and still needing association with like people?.
do you lack the skills to have real friends in real life?.

I am here because, from time to time, it's nice to run into the "old JWDers," like you ((((((Animal)))))!

Should I tell him how I feel or let it go?
by megsmomma inbrief history: my mom shuns me, my step dad is not a jw but thinks pretty much like one and called me apostate when i tried to tell him some things.
my step dad and i have never been close, he was verbally abusive to me growing up.. well, last week he and my mom fly up my ex- and his wife with my daughter (all jw's) to go boating with them and my sisters kids.
i am glad my daughter got to see her cousins....but, i am sure if they talked about me at all it was not positive talk.

To answer AmberRose's question, a good, little, Dubby wife who goes where her "head" asks her to go, and who believes that his daughter needs the good association of the JW relatives. And for (((((((((megsmomma))))))))). I am glad that posting helped you let it go. I do believe that is the wisest course. Although I do like the idea of the thank you card. out

Hello, everyone!
My daughter Katie and her cousin Lisa are about to embark on an 18 day trip through Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and then through the south of France back to Madrid.
They will be travelling from Madrid towards the Atlantic coast and Biarritz, up to Bordeaux, Poitiers, Tours, Orleans, Paris, Lille, Gent, Antwerpen, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Bruxelles/Brussel, Aachen/Aix-la-Chapelle, Heidelberg, Munchen/Munich, Konigschlosser, Ravensburg, Zurich, Luzern, Interlaken, Bern, Lausanne, Annecy, Avignon, Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Marseille, Nimes, Perpignan, Barcelona, back to Madrid.
Very ambitious, I know.
They are planning to stay at hostels and campgrounds along the way, with friends of the family in Madrid, and perhaps near Paris.
Would any of you be willing to host them and/or serve as guides? PMing me will be possible, as I can read your messages, but I now have a macbook and apparently my responses cannot be read. If you are willing to say Hey! to my "girls" (23 and 27 years old), please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will respond from mine with JWD in the subject line.
This just occurred to me--DUH!-- and Katie is already in Granada, Spain, at school, and Lisa arrives on Sunday AM, so this whirlwind begins SOON!!
Thanks in advance,

What is the NEW BUZZ in the Org?
by Save My Soul inthere is a new wt arrangement, the 1935 change, the 30 minute public talk among other things.
some have even said they would stop talking doom and gloom, can someone please confirm this?.
what is the perception of these things among those active in the org?

Ohhhhh! So that explains why the Memorial Partaker figures haven't declined in the past 30 yrs! <insert rolling eyes here>
So, yeah, what Burger said about the numbers... LOL Maybe it's limited to 144,000 per decade or per year or per millenium!?!!!
Does it not occur to anybody here that with the heavenly hope being still open and Jesus' [Final] Coming still off in the future at a time when ALL will recognize what's happening that the JW religion is resembling Christendom more and more?
I await the "new light" that will finally admit to the fact that Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are "One" literally -- thus, that the trinity can also be accepted as true, also.
How will they phrase it?
"Thus, it appears that the original Aramaic text allows for the understanding that Jehovah, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in the sense that they are so united in purpose that there is no distinguishable difference between the three, and thus the three can be seen as One."

Oh, and I thought the public talk was being pared down to 45 mins from 55?
