  What will make the JW in the future?

  what will happen to jw organization.

  may be it will disappear.. they will become more worldly.

  I, too, think that as the numbers of publishers decline (and the numbers of elders stepping down increases!) the Organization will either "circle the wagons" and hunker down becoming more and more insulated OR will become more "orthodox" as they attempt to attract new members with their newfound "reasonableness."

  Which will it be? Hard to say. From other posts it is obvious that a struggle is going on at the highest levels to determine what direction the Organization will take.

  I actually feel sorry for the many who have devoted so many years of their lives to a now-sinking ship. The hull has a well-patched hole that will not withstand the tidal wave of revelations that will shortly come upon USS Watchtower. The captain and first officers will likely go down with the ship. Secondary officers may survive and live to see a lesser ship of faith built and sailing the high seas again. But those officers will direct a much less impressive navy. Like rats flee a sinking ship because it will no longer be a place of sustenance for them, a large number of present publishers will flee the USS Watchtower when it becomes clear that the food served has been rotten for many years. Yes, and when the badge of honor they once thought they wore -- identity as one of Jehovah's Witnesses -- is shown to be a stain of dishonor because of hardened hearts and misguided policies of the ruling elite.

  What are the current study publications?

  it seems like the last i heard, you can start a study using a brochure and then move on to a small book with the 6 month plan.

  is this still the case and what are the publications used?

  i thought it might be interesting to go through atleast the brochure, though i don't think i want to do that locally as the intent is obviously not to get baptized.

  Intro,

  The current study publications are the "What Does God Require of Us?"
  brochure and the book "The Knowledge that Leads to Everlasting Life."

  You may use the brochure to start a "doorstep" study, returning each week to do a few paragraphs (usually tied to a particular question) with the householder. The idea is much the same as when one was always urged to leave the h/h with a question and then come back with the answer the next week. Now, however, the h/h has the brochure in his/her little hands. Also, the householder is being counted as a bible study without realizing s/he is HAVING a Bible study. Once the "Require" brochure is completed, one can go on to the "Knowledge" book. Although designed to be completed in 6 months, publishers are now allowed to take longer to complete this study aid if the situation warrants it (i.e., discipleship is not forthcoming as easily as presupposed!).

  It appears I may only have two copies of this brochure left in my files. However, I did e-mail the entire text (in installments) to a study once, so I could send you those if you're desperate! LOL

  I'm only now catching up on the postings to this board after a weekend away and I'm not under my usual sign-on name for e-mailing, which is why I publicly posted this response.

  How tragic!

  Will you go to this kingdom hall in a few month's time with flyers that merely say www.ajwrb.org and put them under the windshields?
  Or go to the writer of this article in the Regina paper and direct him to the site so that he might do a follow-up on the controversy and the needlessness of this young man's death? Or do something else locally to try to effect a change in JW policy or at the very least educate the members properly on what is and is not acceptable?

  As moral persons who have a unique understanding of just how brain-washed the average Witness is on this matter, should we not feel an obligation to help at least in our little corner of the world?

  This is what I would urge all readers of this board to do. Just make a difference in your immediate environment. One life saved, one less family devastated, one more baby step to global awareness should be worth the effort expended.

  I also attended the BRCI Conference and wore a name tag that identified me as outnfree as well as my real name. I found several attendees who identified themselves as lurkers here who had never posted and had no intention of posting, but who had been reading from several months to a year and were grateful for the site.

  While I can see the wisdom of his in not allowing the organization to be distracted with your issues, it is entirely in keeping with Jehovah's determination to settle the issues once and for all, that he would place some of his servants in the fire to be grilled by those who boast that no one can stand up to the so-called "truth about the truth." Paul in fact stated that God had set some anointed Christians on 'exhibition as a theatrical spectacle' before even the angels, as well as men and the world.

  You DO think highly of yourself, don't you, You Know?

  Some things never change, it really is amazing, not to mention faith strengthening. / You Know

  Yes. You have once again strengthened my faith that the Watch Tower Society has many pompous, arrogant, un-Christlike, self-styled know-it-alls in their midst who do not bother to "pummel [their own] bodies as a slave" but rather spend their time self-righteously pummeling those who might be called Jehovah's "lost sheep"!
