Good Friend is dying
by pratt1 inmy mom just called to tell me that a good friend of mine when i was in the "lie" is dying of colon cancer.. he asked my mom to talk to me about going to see him in the hospital before he goes into hospice.
even though i have been faded for over 10 years, when my mom spoke to me i could only remember the good times we had as friends when we were kids, so it was a no brainer for me, i am going to see him this afternoon.
i also asked my mom to get the phone number of another childhood friend who grew up with us that is dfed.

(((((pratt1)))) I'm so sad to read your news. I am happy for you and both of your friends that you will be able to be reunited before the cancer victim succumbs. I just lost a dear, dear friend to melanoma and now my brother has a mass in his colon that needs investigating. It's plenty sad and scary. I wish your friend peace and to be surrounded by love as he passes. I believe the soul lives on and that he will be pain-free soon. Ask his angels to help him in his final hours. This sounds very dire. Let your heart lead...

(((((((Ian and Claire))))) -- Don't you just HATE those fever spikes? All the more so at this point in time. I wish you speedy recovery, no underlying infection, and that they find you a BED for the stem cell transplant presently.
Here's a nice scripture which I hope will reflect how Ian feels once all the cards rain down upon him. I know it's how I feel about the vigils. (Yes, it's addressed to God, but as I feel we are all one, it's addressed to our dear friends on JWD, too.)

Oh -- the best thing I did for myself soon after leaving was to enroll in a logic class at the local community college. I highly recommend it.

Ummm...but the ex did go to EXTREMES when she asked for 3 years worth of records. She needs his 2005 tax return, basically or the information to "guesstimate" what his tax liability would have been for last year. She may be pissed off because your husband's non-compliance may have made her miss the deadline for her state for filing the FAFSA and now your stepson has lost out on free money -- which may have benefitted BOTH households.
