My response: Thank you so much for your thoughtful expressions. I see that you want to be a spiritual Christian and this certainly is a wonderful thing.
You are perplexed by the fact that I was so deeply involved in the Organization and yet I left. You are disturbed because you feel after learning about Jehovah and his purposes, it is so wrong to just up and leave. In all honesty, you probably would have said the same thing to the Apostle Paul. He too learned that what he was taught was not right. He made it his mission to spread the truth about what he knew to be truth. He was "compelled" to speak up even when others like the Apostle Peter was in fear of men.
Paul would not just leave those he had once taught alone either. He was directed by Jehovah's holy spirit to expose the hypocrisy and untruth that many, even in the Christian Congregation accepted because of their past theocratic heritage.
The Apostle Paul was a fine example of someone who wanted the truth to be made known. He acted like his Master, Christ. Both were persecuted and mocked for telling the truth, so when you speak ill of me, I don't take it personal. I know that I'm imitating them. Perhaps when you mature, you too will see that it is a Christian's duty to act as watchmen so as to save any who do not understand what God's Word teaches. Remember, we are not in fear of man that can kill the body but we are in fear of the One that can kill the soul. I am most concerned that I have my Creator's approval for I love Him.
Please take care and I hope that you consider the scriptural references that I have supplied.
Well said! Nicely put, Min.

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN !
by Simon inas i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/.
it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).

sometimes this place makes me sick...
by theinfamousone init has been quite some time since i have posted on this glorious discussion group... it has been even longer since i have started any discussions myself.. and as somber (or possibly upsetting), my title or even thesis may seem, there is reason and respect coming behind it.... i do love the majority of the people who post here... though your faces and names may have changed since i started here, your kind words, sincere support and listening ears have always been very much appreciated... you have helped me through the hardest times of my life... my feelings of inadequacy (spl?
) and loneliness have often been overshadowed by your caring and love... so i must start by thanking you..... now, that being said; sometimes when i come online and read the dribble that some of you protray as discussion, i am almost sickened... right now my stomach is in knots because of the recent description of one's fecal matter i was subject to read... and yes, i know i could have just clicked off of it, but the title seemed appealing, the subject matter on the other hand was not.... but even this is not enough to turn me off of this site.... the other thing that leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth, is the bull **** that i once believed... the terrible attitude and delusion of grandeur i once shared with the people of this terrible organization.... the pain i must have helped to instill in people who truly did not deserve it... the hatred i felt inside when someone decided to disassociate themselves, or the anger i felt towards the people that were disfellowshipped.
the letters i wrote to my friends, who had left... the families that were falling apart around me, as my own was able to hold some semblance of happiness and stability (whether feigned or not)... all the pain and torture this borg has put me through...has put so many others through... this has left me reeling.... reading about it every day no longer instills anger in me, as it used to... now, it sickens me... sickens me to believe i once felt this way, sickens me that so many others still condemn others for thinking... sickens me to realize that there are other 15 year olds out there being beaten for smiling... sickens me to think that there is not much i can do to help them... except maybe hope that one day they will find this website, or find some friend, or find me, and we can all work together to help this person out..... yes, i needed to rant... the true nature of this message though is to say thank you to all of you for making me realize how sick the witnesses are... how morally blind they are... and how much pain they instill... thank you for helping me out when i needed the help most... thanks for being my family... and i just hope i can help you all and anyone else that needs it as much as you helped me... i hope one day we all feel sickened at the damage the witnesses caused and continue to cause.

So these people are dignified, eh?
I wonder where the dignity is in turning the back on people - is that really dignified?
I wonder where the dignity is in snatching a child patient out of hospital so that it doesn't get a blood transfusion? - is that dignified?

Nigerian consortium shows interest in Newcastle
By Soccernet staff
Updated: September 22, 2008, 6:52 PM UK
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has appointed investment bank Seymour Pierce to handle the sale of his ailing club. The news comes on the same day that a consortium of wealthy Nigerians declared their plans to launch a takeover of the Magpies.
The London-based bank has been drafted in as the billionaire attempts to offload the business he bought just 16 months, for £134.4million, following demonstrations by fans in the wake of manager Kevin Keegan's departure earlier this month.
According to reports in Africa, a Nigerian company has accrued £350million to launch a potential takeover and are bidding to secure the remaining funding which would improve their chances of a successful purchase.
Chief Executive Officer of NVA Management, Chris Nathaniel, whose company are handling the deal, wants to make Nigeria the first African country to own a Premier League club.
He told KickOffNigeria: ''All along I have been working hard to get wealthy and football loving Nigerian entrepreneurs to buy the club since Mike Ashley indicated his willingness to sell the club to the person, people or entrepreneurs who can meet the £400million selling price of the club.
''Right now I am happy to tell you that well meaning Nigerians have responded and the consortium of Nigerian entrepreneurs has so far contributed £350million to buy the club
