i am new to this site.
i just want to say that its great, always nice to know that you're not alone in the fight.
i wish all current jws could be forced to sit and read through all these posts just once.....but thats dreaming, i guess.. it seems that from the psychological aspect the experience can be horrible.

We're mostly all an agreeable bunch. Sometimes we get a little "steamed up' but generally supportive.

just like the urban legends that we all heard at assemblies, we also read questions from readers in the wts rags...did you guys ever read those while you were still jws and think "oh my god...there is no way that some 8 year old wrote or even said any of this.
" or when you heard at assemblies that we should be soooo thankful because the brothers in africa are walking through gator infested, malarial waters with their children on their backs and their book bags and meeting clothes on their heads, through monsoon rains 74 miles each way to attend their assemblies.
my mother used to say the same thing about cleaning my plate because there were kids in whoknowswhere starving to death.
The Society have always responded graciously to any written questions.
Quite a number of us aussies have received letters answering our questions. Of course, that was in the time when thequestions were innocently asked1

Sisters, I'm with you on this one!
It's a terrible thing but the Borg produced hard-hearted qualities in those who would lead the flock.
You know the American saying: "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!". It seems to permeate the Watchtower and the elders it produces. Those of us who were elders are having a hard enough time trying to adopt Christlike qualities, the 'new personality' if you will.
One C.O. said to me that the trouble with me was that I cared too much as an elder! Guess that says it all, don't you think?

this week's watchtower study article (feb 15 p23) should be re-named "the remnant manifesto"!.
a subliminal message centered on the use of the word "remnant" runs right through the article.. para 5: "a faithful remnant in ancient judah were to benefit.".
para 6: "so jehovah prospered the faithful remnant...".

One difficulty the WTBTS should have with the 144,000 is that they explain everything in the Revelation as being figurative excepting the number which they say is literal. So you get the incongruous assertion that 144,000 is literal but the tribes of Israel are figurative. Weird, ain't it? Can any JWs here defend that?

a few months ago, our old chum rick started a thread on h20 about what would happen to some apostates after armageddon.. according to his reasoning, jw apostates, that is to say persons who had only turned against the wtbts and not against jehovah, these ones would survive the great battle and then become personal slaves to the goody two-shoes dubs who sailed through armageddon with first-class honours.
apostate duties would include the renovating of fine stately homes such as sandringham or balmoral, so that all of the very fine fellows in watchtowerland could relax in comfort from their pre-geddon labours, and enjoy being waited on hand and foot by people such as, er well, you tell me!.
so, i was just wondering, if rick is right in what he says, whom would i like to be a slave to?

You have me confused. I thought Jehovah was the organisation. So those who are apostates agianst the org must have rebelled against Jehovah too. Aren't I correct?
BTW how did the meet with the dub-in-a-pub go? I'm all ears!

Welcome to our Home Sweet Home. There are others here who , like you, served as elders for many years, have raised families in the 'truth' and have now seen things differently.
You will find this a forum that can stimulate as well as soothe. Generally the family is friendly. Occasionally we get a bit riled, but make yourselves at home. Please speak to us as often as you like. We'll enjoy 'hearing' from you in your posts.

does the gb count time, and if they have a specific amount for the month, and if they should fall and not make their quota do the elders make a spiritual return visit on them?
since the corporate change does anyone know what they are doing ?

last nite it was announced, a letter read, that the .
use of the term "christian congregation" would now.
be used instead of "watchtower".
Isn't it strange that both the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons have to feature the word 'Christian' somewhere in their titles?
Notice how this is not done by Chriustian churches?
Is it all part of the disguise? Just a coincidence that these two American cults must try to assert that they are Christian? Did anyone doubt it?
