Meetings in private homes could well be the oldest and most widely attended of Christian gatherings. In apostolic times groups of Christians met in private homes to discuss God’s Word.
A moot point.
you will notice that in both these km articles they say the cbs is "a loving arrangement from jehovah".
if that is the case it begs the question: .
what right have they to stop it?

In the meantime, I would put this on the same level as, say, changing the District Convention from 8-9 days to only 3-4.
I'd say it was more significant than that.
In the example you give, the conventions weren't changed, they were simply shorter; just as if they had been increased to say 10 days, it wouldn't have changed them.
However, with this the current change, a whole meeting is being removed. Yes, "they" can say that it's having its location changed but we all know that's just window dressing. No, the group study is being dispensed with, as the "Society's"™ own letter apparently states, so as "not to burden the brothers" in these difficult times.
I consuly my theological library or a local theological library for that extra spice or nutrient
Ever considered that it might be good to enjoy a whole meal there instead of 'nutrient'?
just wanted to let you know that i'm auctioning off a very rare 1950 ass program that is from the olympic auditorium in los angeles with c.w.

I heard one of his old field service slips went for $25,000 at a Christie's auction in New York.No wonder, it would have been a real rarity!

Freedom means not having to wear a tie.

Well done, grassyknoll, you did well!
Somone remarked that the letterhead "Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses" seems to be a change from the usual. I noticed that too. If this is genuine, then it would indicate to me the growing cultish behavior (as if it wasn't before, eh?)
i don't talk about this much here cuz this is a place where i can somewhat relieve the stress of my life but my hubby isn't doing very well.

There's a certain ordeal here for those who suffer from a certain phobia.
If I was actually there, I would actually dive forward over the great chasm - I kid you not. Such is life as a sufferer of acrophobia.

does he suffer from epilepsy or something?
No, a person doesn't have to be epileptic to suffer from seizures, strange though it may seem, but can be brought on by some acute stress that causes disturbance in the brain.
mrsjones: my sympathies to your husband and to yourself too - I do have some idea of the terrible burden this must be for you.
God bless.

if the bookstudy change is true, will it take place in all countries or maybe just in the united states?
?
yesidid:
Yes, thanks for that. Unfortunately there's a plethora of threads on the board at the moment all giving the same info - which isn't that much really.
I guess more substantial news will flow once the Sunday meetings are held.
What a pity there's not a scan of the actual letter to BOEs.
Oh well, you can all wait for the downunder mob, eh? After all they'll gtet to their meetings first!
