  i saw this thread on reddit.

  i think the reason for this is that the 1975 fiasco is never mentioned in the jw religion.

  nobody mentioned it to me when i came in the years after.. the problem with this is that all the sad stories were never told (or hushed up) of people who sold off homes, etc.

  I’ve been out in freedom-land these past twenty-five years, but looking occasionally at those JW Broadcasting ‘shows’ I see the same urgency is still being put out. I saw Stephen Lett (could he really be the leader of a large number of people? Looks very clownish to me.) pronouncing this is the final part of the final days. I’m horrified that such a person is leading my nearest and dearest.

  These GB and others who are leading are obviously quite out of touch with reality.

  I couldn’t help but take issue with this quoted comment on page 221

  “Your work has helped thousands free themselves from the JW cult”

  I really doubt what this person wrote, helped thousands???

  That would put him in some kind of super-league and I don’t see him in that.

  they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .

  with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

  im a bit agnostic about the Bible and God. I don’t claim it to be the truth but there might be bits of truth there, and as I said before I like the good things about being in the org

  A person claiming to be both an elder and an agnostic ? I don’t buy it.

  So you give Public Talks?

  i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.

  It’s either right or it isn’t. You can’t be just a bit true.

  You are prepared to submit your life and the lives of your loved ones to something that isn’t the truth. It doesn’t make sense.

  hi everyone i’m a pimo elder ex bethelite and pioneer who has been having doubts for many years.

  as of late i’ve come to have even more doubts mainly due to the gb pushing the vaccines and acting like salesman for big pharma companies .

  i will never take these vaccines even if it meant i couldn’t go to the hall as was previously said but the gb have done a big u turn on this now.

  anyway, to my point 🙂

  our learned companion named scholar JW has shown incredible tenacity over many years promoting the legitimacy of the Borg.

  Who can forget the tussles that he and I had together with the excellent poster hillary_step almost twenty years ago?

  Whilst disagreeing wholeheartedly with scholar’s point of view, I must acknowledge his loyalty, his tenacity and indeed endurance over so many years to the interests of the Borg.

  That is not to say that some very genuine good people have worked on that with joy, , but so have members of others groupings

  Precisely! Like the local gun club or the knitting circle or….ad infinitum.

  It’s hardly a reason to stay in the borg when it’s very basis is the ideas and whims of men.

  When I think of the OP and being PIMO and faking it, I wonder just HOW many Witnesses in any given congregation are genuine?

  and I wonder about the Bethelites too. I can recall many years ago, when I was ‘in’,having conversations in the corridor at the branch office about certain ‘anomalies’ in teachings - all in very hushed tones of course ! I knew at that time some leaders had doubts. They were willing to “wait on Jehovah”. What about now? I wonder.
