You should have replied, "why yes, if you would like to learn more about the bible, I would be happy to study from THE BIBLE with you."

I Was Offered A Bible Study By The Elders
by minimus in2 elders, the cobe and his sidekick, a former bethelite and a young ms (elder in waiting) stopped by my mom's home while i was visiting with her.
they were very congenial and eventually asked me if i got invited to the memorial and whether they could arrange a future visit with me and a possible study.
i thanked them and told them i appreciated their invitation but that i was going to "pass at this time" but thanked them for their concern.. they recited a "wonderful experience" about a young man that was raised in the "truth" but wanted out so he decided to go to asia where he could not be found by witnesses.

And please, if you don't like tattoos thats fine but keep it to yourself. When I'm old and wrinkly, I won't care about what the tats look like cause I'm already gonna be old and wrinkly!

if you were gb what new ideas would you come up with???
by mP infirstly a few rules.. - increase in numbers primary goal.
- new laws must feel the same as past ones.. - cant revolutionize and feel mainstream, .
- changing doctrine acceptable, only cant change everything at once.

Tithing. This does not count towards your voluntary donations which show your true love for us. I mean God.
Bring back concubines!
Push to legalize it. Yeah. You know.

The "invisible" Elephant in the room: ELDERLY JW's nobody provides for
by Terry inquestion: how does the leadership of jehovah's witnesses instruct its members to prepare for the eventual elder care of its members?.
answer: it pretends it will never happen!.
is this responsible leadership or some kind of cognitive dissonant malfeasance?.

YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!!! THE SOCIETY TALKS ABOUT PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE ALL THE TIME!
Almost every year there is an article with instructions on how to leave everything you own to the society when you die. See. Problem solved.

You would return to Jehovah's Witnesses if...
by Shawn10538 insomeone else suggested this so i just figured, ok let's do it.. 1. all present jws died and i became the sole leader of the entire religion.
2. then i would dissolve the religion and burn every last memory of it ever existing.
3. all books would be burned, all buildings destroyed.

If they did away with judicial committes and using guilt to push for the membership to reach out. And they hosted blood drives.

Hiking is a great idea, I could even take the dog. That might be worth a shot. Woodstock is great but, of course, I have an ex-bethelite friend who lives there... Can't escape the bastards... If only I could convince them the truth about "the truth" my life would be so much easier.
If I didn't care about being df'd life would be much easier too. Maybe one day.

Thanks BOTR sounds like it might just be a little dirty. I know NYC inside and out, looking for something different without having to get on a plane tho. Never been a gamblin man, but figured I might try if I can stay withing a budget.
Also as big as NYC is, I run into so many people I know (JW's, bethelites from the past) that it annoys the hell out of me.

Hey my friends,
I'm a single guy and my head is gonna explode if I don't take a short vacation. Atlantic City is not a terrible drive for me and I have never been. Any of you ever been? I am up for all sorts of fun and debauchery. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

More than 50,000 DEAD
by Marvin Shilmer inmore than 50,000 dead.
today i added a new article to my blog addressing overall mortality suffered as a result of watchtowers blood doctrine.
to the best of my knowledge this is the first attempt at such an extrapolation based on data gathered that is both verifiable and offers sufficient information to measure frequency in this particular patient population (jehovahs witnesses).

The worst part is, it is likely some on the GB feel that the blood position is wrong, but they either refuse to speak up or are voted down.

For those of you who inactive, but not officially DFd/DAd, how do you manage?
by undercover ini read with interest the thread about how people who are mentally out yet still attend (some) meetings manage to do continue to do it and it got me wondering, how do those of us who are completely inactive, no longer practicing members of the faith, manage to pull off our new ex-jw life, yet never invite scrutiny or investigation from former friends, elders, etc.. take me, for example.
i've been out several years now, but have never officially renounced my faith.
i've never out and out called it a crock of shit to anyone who could make real trouble for me.

Cedars you hit the nail on the head. Many people are like the disciples, "Lord, whom shall we go away to?" They would be more lost without the org as it has encompased their whole life, faith, social structure ect.
I would love to see my family free, but it might destroy them more to be out than in.
