Euph you don't deserve that treatment. Sometimes I think the JW family might be happy to lose one or more responsibilities (ie) kids. I mean otherwise they'd have to care about you and discuss your life with you. Nice loving attitude.

Question for agnostics and/or atheists
by sonnyboy ini've just recently declared my agnosticism to myself and to one other person in my life.
i don't necessarily consider myself an atheist because i believe there very well may be some higher power or non carbon based entities in existence with 'godlike' abilities.
my question is, do you still find yourself secretly believing in god?

If you are spending years searching for god, any god, then you already have a belief and you are searching for whatever god answers your hoped for faith. Belief, faith and miracles do not exist. They are the emotional stuff which fills the void which knowledge would otherwise fill. Because you desire a thing does not make it real. I am reminded of two quotes. First one which was anon and reads:
"Coffee House philosophy: You are entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts."
And the next was from StinkyPants (where is she?)
"Militant Agnostic: I don't know and you don't either."

honestly, do you think that jw's really like going to 3 or 4 day assemblies, especially when it's out of town, far away, and you have to take a motel room, and all the gas money and food money it takes, as well as having to sit down all day listening to endless talks...and that for 3 or 4 days in a row.. and often, they have to take a day off from work, to attend the friday meeting, so no pay for that day.. i think that the jw's are glad when it's finally over, not before.. .

back again for a visit
by czarofmischief injust thought i'd pop in and let you guys know what i'm to - not to brag (ok, a little), but i think sharing our success stories is an important part of everyone's rehab.. let's see - i (and my writing partner) had three short plays produced here in the "burgh"... it was poorly attended, but i had fun and the czarina was proud of me!
so that's all i need.. i've also gotten a job stringing for one of "america's great newspapers" so at least it's an in for the profession i went to school for.. and my main employer actually offered me a significant raise and full benefits (a huge deal here in the states), a nice change from my temp status.. the baby is still incoming; pictures will of course be posted.
but she's already the most beautiful girl in the world and i'm sure she will be a worthy heiress to the glorious faux-leather throne from which i type this statement.. i've successfully made it one year without any mood medication.

Bi-Sexual
by misguided ini guess my new-found freedom of personal expression is working its way down to my kids.. i came home from a crazy day at work, ate my dinner, was loading the dishwasher, when my 13-year-old son says, .
"mom, i have something to tell you - i'm bisexual...i've been that way for a year now.
i still can't help but have my old jw brain at work, thinking this is not okay - kind of like, i'm an apostate with a bisexual son...what will my family say?!

Misguided, You are doing a wonderful job with your son. I've recently had a similar discussion with a friend. While heterosexual or homosexual may have genetic impetus; Bi-sexuality is more of a choice. I think we are all capable of enjoying bisexuality. Isn't it just amazing that with this f***ked up world that a persons sexuality would matter (or be anyones business) at all. I'm talking about the kids at school. I have also seen the play wrestling etc with both boys and girls; I think its all part of finding yourself in society. "Hey ... leave them kids alone."

damn, it happened again.

i travel around in my work.
today i was in a mall.. a lovely young woman approached me, looked me in the eye and said she wanted to leave me with something...as she handed me a tract.. i looked at it searching for evidence it was jw.
