Mort, Take it higher. Did you have to buy meds for the burn? Send them the bill for that too. If You threw the bill out go buy the same meds again and send that in. The rudeness also needs to be addressed.

6Burnt from a blanket
by morty inyes, you heard correctly.....on this past weekend i plugged in our electric blanket and put it on my bed...i turned it on to warm it up a bit like i always usally do before going to bed in the fall and winter.....it was on for about a half hour or so then i decided to crawl in....it was about 3 in the morning and i woke up to my leg burning ....no kidding....the blanket had been so hot that it burnt a hole through it and went through my p.j's and burnt my leg.....was i ever upset about the whole thing....i went to sears yesterday.
( that is where the blanket was purchased) and apparently they had a recall on their "sears" brand blankets last year...know one ever contacted me to tell me this....needless to say they replaced my blanket and all i got was a "we are sorry"... i found the clerk to be rather rude about the whole thing.....i asked for her superviser but she was out to lunch as well......i just feel it could have been delt with a little more tlc.....i mean i did get burnt that did blister... i then asked her this question ".what if that had been a child?
" her responce was, you are not suppose to use these blankets on infants.....i then said " i said child not infat" do you think i should leave this matter or take it to a higher person in the company?

Flowerpetal, Very good points. The beauty of science is that our understanding of the universe and all things in it has been limited to our scientific ability to study. For example: Where were single cells before they were discovered" through the microscope? They were there but we were unable to see them. So it took the invention of a scientific instrument. However, and this is important the microscope was not developed to study microbes, only to see details on leaves etc. The single cell organisms and their asexual reproduction led to more ideas.
So things like the PTE have empty unnamed spaces because science has enabled scientists to predict that certain elements are in existence, but we just haven't seen them, yet.
Another idea is that without the studies of Newton to build on and learn from, Einstein would not have understood the theory of relativity. So who do we call the father of physics? Newton or Einstein? This is what is called a paradigm shift. So we know the elements have always existed in the universe. And we understand somewhat of the ideas of quantum gravity. Which is built on the study of quantum mechanics and physics. The beauty of physics is that scientific study continue to build on this so we will understand more about the universe. 30 yrs ago we hadn't seen past our own solar system. Now we see galaxy effects on one another, we can surmise the location of "dark energy", we've seen nebulae --- AND now we know that the speed of light has not remained constant since the big bang. It's all about puntuated equilibria --- varied rates of change. If we had stuck with the original theories of thermodynamics we'd be expecting a very homogenous universe in the future... phew ... thank goodness for paradigm shifts and physicists unafraid to pose a new theorem.

i had a speech prepared... but oh well.... i'd just like to thank my parents for giving me this computer, crazy mocha coffee company for letting me borrow their network card for months at a stretch, upmc for giving me a job with night shift access to the internet, and my wife for keeping me alive for almost two years now.. thank you, thank you, thank you, all of you.

This is so positive. I had almost forgotten how great I felt giving to a charity, not the self righteousness but that I had the freedom to help anyone or any organization because I thought it was a good cause. This is the real way to help people, not selling them literature.

Going through a painful Divorce
by caspian injust waiting for the final "decree absolute" to come through in the next 3 weeks or so.. but man why is it so hard, the final break.
i really need this to be over so i can finally get on with the rest of my life.. .

Caspian, Oh brother I feel horrible for you. This whole year has been one long tragedy in your life and your stress point has probably been breached. My advise is to take it slow. Do or don't do stuff. Give yourself permission to be you. Grieve and then get really pissed off... anger over loss is a good thing. Everyone here is plenty supportive of you, so fill up on the knowledge of that, AND I'm also a fat lady and I sing everyday, so out with the bad karma and in with this new fresh highway.

Okey Dokey. God has allowed the erroneous thinking ? So that means that any WTS doctrine may change at any time because it may be erroneous. The error is there because god has allowed it to be. Many errors are in the Bible that we don't know about yet. Things like the little flock, 144,000, Jesus second coming , Jesus being the son of god, Paul being a man of god, Jesus born of a virgin, the sun standing still, and the earth being created in 6 days. All may be mis-translations. We need to wait and see what god was REALLY talking about.
So the Brooklyn, Patterson, and Wallkill enclaves may be an erroneous move. God is testing the
Israelitesbrothers to see just how greedy and power hungry they can get, and just how many children will get molested, just like job the children feel it is their fault and they are being punished . Maybe god is waiting for someone to stand up and speak for righteousness ... Hey someone already has done this ... several people ... we're in a new prophet margin.
