when h2o and a few other boards were around, a few years back, they all became known for something unique.
h2o was where you went to see some great debates and really learn how to disprove the "truth".
randy's site was one of the first places that gave snippets of all the local ex and jw gossip, for the week.

- JWD will be remembered as a wonderful place bridging the old WTS with the new real world. Like a transit pass or something. Or maybe a transector, you know someplace to complain and be loved anyway. Someplace to gain knowlegde you may need. Someplace where new friends are able to contact one another. Someplace to argue and be safe from df'ing.

This is what I think. During the scripting of Braveheart Mel Gibson probably began thinking of the torture of other of his heros. One of these being Jesus. Now whether or not I believe in Jesus I certainly am interested in how Mel Gibson portrays him. Afterall, legends are the way we remember times and people(some real stuff some not). Considering Mel Gibson's interest in showing what torture is all about ie., Braveheart, this should be good (in a certain sense).
Another idea I have is that we shouldn't forget what happened to the Protestants like John Wycliff and the Hugenots and others who were persecuted by the R.Catholic church when they were espousing new doctrine (new light) . Why would the priests at Yahweh's temple have been any different? What religious group , especially the hierarchy likes to be told that they are not only wrong but also Satanic.
If you need to see a film about Jesus torture to be emotionally attached to his death - well therapy might be a good idea too. Just MO.

No way. Too many have proven that they cannot be reformed. Look at that teacher who had her students baby, got convicted, got out and got pregnant by him again. The kid was 15! Good grief what a hag predator. I'm not sorry to say I would prefer they remained incarcerated.
if the jw org makes it another hundred years, what will they be preaching then?
how will their chronology and doctrines have changed?
if there are colonies on the moon or other moons, or mars, or out among the asteroids, will they still be reporting time in the house-to-house (pod-to-pod?
UMMMM---Who will clone them if they don't allow anyone to go to college? Oh yeah what am I saying they'll still be allowing their personal choices for medical school, ANNNDDDDD they'll have a secret laboratory w/Dr.Bros Rojas cloned to supervise at the farm, which will be farming stem cells and embryos. Clones will be used to be the worker bees. Clones will be used for the preaching work (here or on Mars).
And of course the subject will remain the same, only the dates will continually change. They will continue to focus on making $$$.
I hope someone besides the French government goes after 'em.

Wow. I never realised that the NWT was only printed in 12 languages . That is such a good point - what other bible translations are being used? And what does that say about the "unity" of the organization? Amazing. I so appreciate Blondie and gophers efforts.

Hey I am so so happy for you. While I was in college I just kept telling myself that every class was another accomplishment and every hour od credits completed were mine forever... something no one could take away from me. Just 2 more months and you can breathe for a moment.
a few people have asked how jwd came about and what my own story is and while i've posted it in bits and bobs, i've never tried to tell it as a story so here goes .... living in suburbia.
i was born a jw to jw parents who had recently been missionaries / pioneers in ireland and taken literature into countries like spain when it was banned but who were now living in suburbia near to where they had both been brought up.
we lived in a new semi-detached house in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill - fantastic for building go-carts and racing down !
Simon, I enjoyed reading Part 1 and look forward to part 2. When I started reading I thought "Wow, what a great life for a kid!" but then everything fell apart and my heart broke for you. I keep thinking how your kids willl benefit from all that early good stuff you lived. Your website reminded me of my Mom's saying "Living well is the best revenge." Well you've done it...you are smarter and wiser than any idiot from the KH. You are proof of how life can be so good and rewarding in everyway w/o the WTS. You're terrific and brilliant (except for not liking you know who).

I remember for years that MJ was still a JW until he did the Thriller video and dubs complained about the evil monsters he portrayed. Serena and Venus have the same cover story as the Jackson's ie., Dad is an unbeliever and since he's the HEAD we must follow him to the recording studio or tennis court. But that only lasts just so long and the CO start hearing from the PO's blah blah blah and then it's DA'd or DF'D.

my kids came down for my birthday today.
i really enjoy them coming down, they are so loving to me.
i'm one lucky oldfart to have them.
