since my family is out of town, and i am alone this weekend, i have decided to attend this once to see these things for myself.
have no fear, i have absolutely no interest in joining.
my goal is simply to better understand how to reach those who are on the inside, and i feel i could better do that by observing it.
My Advice is to get there a few minutes early so you don't have to sit in the very front where it's uncomfortable. The back edge is usually the most comfortable, and least awkward place to sit and observe.
If you want to make it somewhat less monotonous and entertaining try raising your hand during the Watchtower study, and give a answer from your own "worldy" perspective instead of the scripted paragraph answers most give and note the expressions on their faces...LOL.
i know a few folks here are huge cigar fans, i am asking if anyone can tell me a good whiskey to go with cigars.. i am sure this is kind of a broad question but i ma having some folks over for poker this weekend and i am trying to set things up real nice like... lol.

So pondering the points above it really has confirmed that it's now open season on Russell. I suspect the next phase of their schemes is to tarball up the false predictions and dodgy doctrine and pin it on Russell and then dissavow him as a "true JW" (tm). If they are going to do this to Russell why not Rutherford, Knorr etc? Call it hubris if you will, but they must be very confident that all the RF will focus on is the preaching and the increasing numbers and they will accept this. By pulling this CIA style move, I believe they are going to make it more difficult for us to reason with our family members.
Perhaps this July 15th watchtower was a test of the waters of just how gulluble their members are, and based on the letter it looks like they are confident to proceed with divorcing their past perhaps even up to 1980, and what's more is the majority will probably accept it.
Folks they have been masters of manipulation and have been able to pull it off for 130 years,. In the next few years prepare to watch a coverup happen that will rival the NSA scandal. There is no doubt that this is now a full blown cult of the highest order.

as they hadn’t knocked on my door for at least five years, and consequently feeling somewhat neglected, i thought that i would pay them a visit instead.. .

With all due respect, one thing that always bothers me is when proponents of theism try to use science to prove their point. The WT$ has been trying to do this for while now. It seems they should not get to use science in their argument because they would have zero knowledge of anything scientific, unless scientifically minded people (like Galileo) had the audacity to challenge religious dogma or the church . So when theist proponets invoke science to prove theism it's somewhat insulting, because (1) theism didn't give them that information and (2) theists throughout history have done everything in their power to styme science and have mitigated centuries of advance and progress.

Sad, Islam untempered by secularism is certainly not a religion of peace or a even a force for good as many claim. It might take these countries another century to come out the dark ages the way things have been going. Teaching through the Internet is pretty much the only thing to be done about this religious plague at this point.

They like to claim that these two versus are talking about two different beings (Jesus and Jehovah), but how can the term "Alpha and the Omega" apply to both beings? It confounds logic.

pope francis on saturday challenged bishops from around the world to get out of their churches and preach, and to have the courage to go to the farthest margins of society to find the faithful.. this should prove to be an interesting spectacle to watch.

This time they will actually have to use logic and reason with people, since mass torture and crusading are generally frowned upon now. Hospitals and schools are something that folks could get behind though.
