  this is no laughing matter.

  a major cme or flare could wipe out civilization by destroying power grids everywhere.. this is why i get so angry about global warming hysteria - there are far more serious threats that could emerge in months, not decades ahead.. i also understand that a small asteroid is scheduled to come breathtakingly close to hitting earth in two years.

  3.5 years vs. a lifetime of going door to door.

  did it bug you as a witness that jesus only had to go from door to door for 3.5 years, and he was done; while he demanded that you do it for your whole life without preparing for the morrow?

  i just remember a few years back reflecting on the daunting prospect of doing it my whole life if the end didn't come - "sooner rather than later".

  what are your thoughts?.

  What really gets me is just the sheer uncertainty of it all, which Jesus didn't have to deal with as sayswho brought out. The bible is in essense asking us to throw it all on the line, but those that do, never really receive any unmistakable confirmations after doing it decade after decade.

  2 Pet 3:11-16

  11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought YOU to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, 12 awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which [the] heavens being on fire will be dissolved and [the] elements being intensely hot will melt! 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.
  14 Hence, beloved ones, since YOU are awaiting these things, do YOUR utmost to be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace. 15 Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul according to the wisdom given him also wrote YOU, 16 speaking about these things as he does also in all [his] letters.   How is anyone supposed to have peace, when the bible holds a gun to your head and there is so much uncertainty, and God never provides unmistakable confirmation/validation for your work? To me this is just cruel.

  What if Adam knew his wife, before the sin?

  i sometimes wonder how things would have been if adam and eve had procreated before eating from the tree of knowledge, and the ramifications of such.. if any children didnt also eat of the tree, would we now have two groups of humans on earth, one perfect and living forever, and us.. would god have split the two classes of human, putting eden on another planet or dimension or such?.

  does this indicate that its all deliberate, that god knew satans plan so let the play unfold before letting adam and eve know each other?.

  or does it just mean that satan was allready corrupted and wanted to get his deed done at the very beggining to ensuer he had everyone?.

  OGD - That makes sense, take a complex sequence of events that took place and roll them up in a simple allegory.That is an interesting possiblity i'd not considered before.

  In either case one cannot escape the absolute axiom that the bible teaches through this and other accounts that God will not accept any of his creation that chooses to not do things exactly as he wants. As an intelligent self aware creature, I will never accept this kind of tyranny from a human or heavenly dictator.

  The decrease in crime is actually one of the things that got me to wake up. You remember going out in service and asking the householder if they think the crime will ever get better followed by pitch for kingdom. Well 15-20 years later is has!

  Seems to me that Jesus is saying don't worry about stuff I got this...just seek my kingdom first, and everything will be fine.

  If I were to decide to pursue a good carreer that would provide well and give me a good future materially, i'm not sure it would stand up to Jesus criteria of how to live ones life below. I would consider a good education, and good paying job with retirement benefits preparing for the morrow.

  Matt 6:

  Intersting vid, it seems like the rationale is that they view the U.S. as the kingdom that Jesus referenced repeatedly in the gospels. Which is really an odd conclusion to come to when you factor in points such as these.

  • That Jesus rejected the kingdoms of the world when Satan offered them.
  • That Jesus turned down an offer to be made king while he was here.

  Hopefully these guys don't take over or we'll have another inquisition on our hands.

  Yes, Perry was a strange one, and just looking closly at the pledge of allegiance you can see the founders had this thought too. I just wonder what the reasoning behind making such statements is or is it just pure hubris?
