I thought about leaving, but I'm not very good at keeping promises, as you can see.
Plus it always comes off as attention grabbing, whichever way you word it.
i don't post often, and rarely start topics.
but, i've often wondered why folks feel the need to post their departure from this board.
they're free to leave or fade, etc.

my gradmother used to tell me about a catholic icon at her aunt's house which was demon possesed and once blinked at her.
.
any other good stories of possession from people you know?.
I'm saying, tal, that If your grandad is anything like me, he wouldn't be able to light a molotov with a flamethrower. :P

Oh please tal, I have trouble burning toilet roll tubes, nevermind books. Obviously Satan is responsible for the delightful two-ply softness of Charmin.
One sister told me she had a lot of occult books, and when she put them into the bin, it exploded in the night. Not sure what the binmen thought that Thursday. We also had an argument over a doll mum had bought from the charity shop - it went in a garbage bag.
The one I remember about actual possession is some guy in another country somewhere, and no matter what they tried they couldnt kill him, bullets bounced off him, knives buckled under the pressure of his rock hard abs. In the end they had to tie him up and drown him. Shame it never made the news.
the first few minutes are fairly unremarkable, but it gets a little more interesting towards the end.... you can just about hear a child in the background say "oooh, there's a light in the sky.".

When he starts zooming in at around 1:10 I thought it looked more like a flame. I'm not quite sure how an internal combustion engine would work in outer space. :P
Anyway, my first assumption would be testing for a military plane. It's silent and it looks like a star, pretty good cameoflauge. Most fighter jets can reach Mach 2 speed, which is 680 m/s.
my dad in particular hasn't shut up about this.. they played john lennon's 'imagine' at the closing ceremony - fantastic song, though the actual message would seem to clash with that of the olympics.. anyway, one of the lines is of course "imagine no religion.".
well i've never heard such a kerfuffle about a song lyric in this house since lady gaga was bluffing with her muffin.. .
i like how the only thing they can pick up on for the sunday circle-jerk is a song that was written 41 years ago, the composer of which is now dead, albeit untimely.. .
It is. And in the process of writing this I also learnt how to spell kerfuffle.
Definitely a worthwhile post.

Yes hello it's me again.

Any other witnesses been raving about this?
first off, i can happily say that this year i did not attend a single day at this years district convention.. on saturday during the convention, my wife asked me to drop her off after lunch and later pick her up when the convention was over.
while i was dropping her off, i noticed a single individual holding picket signs protesting the convention.
it said things like, "was the ransom sacrifice worth it?
There's a possibility NC. But in Witness mode, I wouldn't have listened to him. I'd have said he was either possessed or just someone who took an issue with the WT.
Still, I think it's funny that they are so proud about their proselytizing, yet when others would do it to them they are told to get a life or f*** off xD. Wonderful double standard.

There's been a few, and though it's not an approach that will ever work, its quite funny.

Surprising no one has bitched about the second amendment yet.
And after having watched it tonight, I wouldn't say there's 0 political motivation behind the film (thinking of OWS here). However, it is a very minor segment, just one part of the overall plan of the main antagonist. The film is not about class struggle or economic segregation. In fact, neither of these things are mentioned in the film, and are hardly implied. The brief scenes are merely used as a tool to make the film relevant to the audience and add some realism to the story.
Regardless, a sad day for those families affected by this tragedy.
i had been watching jwfairytale's videos recently, and he's been including snippets of this short film about a guy that becomes a jw and then changes to a born again, or so i think.
you can watch it here.
it's very dated, but quite enjoyable:.
Interesting, all very interesting.
I know New World Translation takes out kyrios and replaces it with Jehovah in most instances of the New Testament, where the accurate translation would be Lord. I always seemed to switch off whenever they tried explaining it, though.
Glenster it'll take me a day to read all that! But I'll have a look this weekend.
No intention to Hit & Run the thread, or spark a name calling session lwt. I was just curious and wanted to throw it open to everyone.
