As stated above...it varies from person to person. I am doing a semi instant slow fade. LOL. Basically stopped all field service and commenting but still go to meetings about 2/3 of the time and report made up hours. They want to have a sheparding call with me but I will continue to shoot that down. It's not hard emotionally bacause I stopped caring a long time ago what the other people in the hall think. I have family that are in and a few of those family members, I love dearly and don't want to put them through me being dfed again. So I will always be identified by some in our city as a witness since I'm somewhat well known. So lowing everyone's expections of me, occasionally sporting a beard to meeting, yet being the kind energetic person everyone has always liked is working out great for me. They all know what's up but can't do a thing about it. Other than condemn me in their hearts but we all know the JWs are always judging each other adversely so really makes no difference.

How to make your exit with minimal pain while still living at home with your parents
by sseveninches inas requested, i've made a new thread with the info i posted on a previous thread.
this is intended for young jws who have woken up from their anesthesia but still cannot move, or in other words, have learned ttatt but are still living with parents and are afraid of getting kicked out if they make their opinions/findings known.
i am included in this group of people, because i myself still live at home with parents.

I really feel for all you that are living at home and know the ttatt. Continue to be patient. Freedom will come faster than it seems. Lower others expectations of you at the beginning(as this guide points out) and it will make the time easier.
Best wishes to you all! You can do it!

What did you eat when you moved out if you didn't know how to cook?
by Aware! ini'm male, in my early twenties, and i don't know how to cook.
if one day i blow my cover i will have to move out and fend for myself.
my question is what frozen meals or quick fix meals do you recommend for a single guy?

Cooking isn't really that hard. The above mentioned book would be great. If youre a geek like me there are a million apps for smart phones that are great. How to cook everything is one that I think is pretty awesome. The website cooks.com has any and everything you could want to eat on it. If you just follow directions and give it your best effort you will find cooking isn't so tough.

Close friend recently disfellowshipped.
by Emery injust recently i had a very close friend call to notify me of their future disfellowshipping.
i felt such sadnesss by their phone call as they seemed pretty shook up and were desperately pleading their repentance over the phone so i wouldn't think critically of them.
i immediately reassured that person that i still loved and cherished them greatly regardless of their status, i would be there whenever they needed me.

The above advice is mostly accurate in my opinion.
Be a good listener...
Let them know you still care about them...
Don't tell them the truth about the truth yet...
Just be a friend...regardless of their feeling about their DF or the org or the brothers...they need a friend since most likely most of their friends will shun them.

Many of the hard of hearing and deaf can read but the biggest issue is that sentence structure is different from language to language. I am speaking from a brief background in ASL. I entered it thinking that it was like spoken language but it's not. Sign is more like concepts and some vocabulary used to portray an idea. It's actually rather disturbing that the society has so much material available in sign because translation to sign is COMPLETELY open to interpretation. They can say whatever they want. It's a beautiful language tho.

This system is not all bad.
by Inisc inhi, everyone.. for many jws all they ever hear about is how wicked the world is and how it has gotten even worse lately.
the media does not help either.. and even for many ex jws who still have family who are still in, we have to listen to all that doom and gloom about the end of this system.. but, i would just like to recommend a website i found, (not sure if that violates jwn rules) .
its not religious at all, but is a news source of many heartwarming stories and news articles from all over the world that show just how wonderful life and and people can be.. i find it's a great antidote to remind us that the whole world is not wicked and in fact wickedness is still in the minority!.

Her closing statements are so simple yet so many witnesses will cannot grasp the concept...
Why would truth be scared of lies? Why can't we ask why? Is it because we may find out WHY....why they are scared of us finding the truth about the truth....that's why.
